    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for establishing or handling a connection between first and second network elements connected to different networks such as GPRS/UMTS and IP based networks.
      SOLUTION: The connection is established by at least one third network element like SGSN or GGSN disposed on one network. When information about connection establishment is received, the third network element transmits a request to a fourth network element that is CSCF, PCF or CPS. The request requires a permission for establishing a connection in a requested form or a check of a connection parameter and further designates the first and/or the second network element and/or the connection or connection form to be established. The fourth network element redirects a response designating the permission for establishing the connection or the connection form or designating the connection parameter.
