    • Moving-picture-with-audio data suitable for reproduction at a terminal device is generated rapidly. Image data, which represents a moving picture from which audio has been removed, and audio data are extracted from moving-picture-with-audio data by an image extracting unit and audio extracting unit. The items of extracted image data and audio data are respectively converted by an image converting unit and audio converting unit to image data and audio data having formats of a plurality of types suitable for reproduction and output by every model of terminal device. The items of image data and audio data obtained by the conversions are stored in an image database and audio data base, respectively. When the moving-picture-with-audio data is to be transmitted, items of image data and audio data suited to a terminal device to which the transmission is to be made are read out and the moving-picture-with-audio data is generated.     • In response to a browsing request of a document file from a cellular phone, a document image generation server loads the document file into a RAM. A font size detection section detects font sizes contained in the document file. A document division section divides the document file into predetermined units having approximately the same two dimensional size. A resolution determination section determines a resolution of each document image to be generated from the document file on a unit-by-unit basis in accordance with the smallest font size contained in the unit. A conversion section converts the document file into the document images on a unit-by-unit basis so that each document image has the determined resolution.

    • When a mobile telephone requests a web server for HTML page data containing a link, the server generates an identifier and appends the identifier to the link. An HTML page containing the link with the appended identifier is generated by the web server and is transmitted from the web server to the mobile telephone. If content at the link destination of the link is requested by the mobile telephone, then the content is transmitted to the mobile telephone and an access log entry is recorded at the web server. The access log entry includes the identifier and the content request. In a case where identifiers are found to be in common, the number of times this content was accessed (requested) is construed to be a single time. Even if a single item of content is divided into multiple portions and requested multiple times, the number of times this content was accessed is treated as being a single time. The number of times access was performed can be calculated comparatively accurately.
