      SOLUTION: The microwave melting device comprises a tank 40 charged with the material to be molten, a screw conveyor 15 for conveying the material to be molten charged in the tank 40, a heater 41 for heating the material to be molten when the material to be molten is conveyed by the screw conveyor 15, a melting vessel 44 for accommodating the material to be molten in which hydrocarbon is emitted by the heater 41, a microwave generator 45 for generating the microwave applied to the material to be molten which is accommodated in the melting vessel 44, and a recovery vessel 30 for recovering slag produced in the melting vessel 44.

    • PURPOSE:To make magnetic field strength variable in an optional position on an axis by alternately arranging a plurality of permanent magnets and pole pieces of an electron beam focusing magnetic field device and forming some of the permanent magnets to differ from each other in their inside diameter and thickness. CONSTITUTION:In an electron beam focusing magnetic field device using a permanent magnetic material of the same kind but different inside diameter, a permanence coefficient in setting positions of permanent magnets 8, 9 can be increased by enlarging the inside diameters of the magnets 8, 9. With this constitution, magnetic fields at working points of the magnets 8, 9 can be lessened and simultaneously the central magnetic field on an axis is also lessened, and the magnets 8, 9 can be always operated under nearly saturated condition. Further, if the inside diameters of the magnets are lessened, the central magnetic field on the axis intensifies and the same effect is also obtained by varying the thickness.

    • PURPOSE:To interrupt the permeation of a brazing material into an external conductor by connecting an internal conductor with a spiral transmission line surrounded with a magnetic circuit functioning to focus electron beams and surrounding the internal conductor with an external conductor so as to form an coaxial circuit and at that time inserting a sleeve into the lower part of a ceramic window with which the internal and external conductors are fixed. CONSTITUTION:An internal conductor 5 formed perpendicularly to a spiral transmission line 2 and made to pass through a magnetic circuit 1 is connected with an end part of the line 2 surrounded with the circuit 1. A cylindrical external conductor 10 in parallel with the internal conductor 5 is connected with a cylinder inside the circuit 1 so that a coaxial circuit 3 is formed. Terminal parts of them are sealed with a ceramic window 4, and a cap 6 is inserted into the periphery of the window. When this part is sealed with a brazing material 9 thereafter, an upper end part of the external conductor 10 is made larger than conventionally and a sleeve 11 is inserted between the internal conductor 5 and the external conductor 10. When this window block 7 is brazed with the external conductor 10 in this way, the permeation of the brazing material toward the external conductor 10 is interrupted by the sleeve 11, so that a change in impedance of a traveling-wave tube can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To improve thermal stability in order to obtain an excellent focusing action by using a permanent magnet with a small temperature coefficient, as the one disposed on a place where it becomes high in temperature during their operations, in a periodical magnetic field CONSTITUTION:When electron beams emitted from an electron gun 1 pass the inside of a delaying circuit 2, they are focused into a definite diameter by means of a periodical magnetic field device 4. Ring-shaped permanent magnets 5 used in the device 4 are made of rare earth cobalt. As permanent magnets 9 disposed on a place where it becomes high in temperature during their operations, alnico magnets which are more stable in a thermal property and smaller in a temperature coefficient than the magnets 5 are used. Thus, a change of a magnetic field inside the device 4 placed under a high-temperature atmosphere can be reduced, and an excellent focusing action of electron beams can be always obtained over the whole length of e traveling wave tube.
