摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy measurement of a wheel diameter with few errors by calculating the wheel diameter on the basis of the ratio between a speed of movement of a wheel and a speed of rotational movement of the wheel or the ratio between a distance of movement of the wheel and a distance of rotational movement of the wheel, which are measured values. SOLUTION: A comparative computation unit 4 executes comparative computation of a speed of movement of a wheel or a distance of movement thereof measured by a detector 1 and a speed of rotational vertical movement of the wheel or a distance of rotational vertical movement thereof measured by a detector 2. Next, an adder 5 adds up the distance measured by the detector 1, at every computation of the comparative computation unit 4, to obtain an integrated distance of movement. At the time when an output of the detector 1 is the speed, the adder 5 integrates it with time and converts it into the distance. Then, a wheel diameter calculator 6 calculates a wheel diameter from the relation of the ratio between the speed of rotational vertical movement of the wheel and the speed of movement thereof or the ratio between the distance of rotational vertical movement of the wheel and the distance of movement thereof, which is computed by the comparative computation unit 4, with the integrated distance of movement of the wheel obtained by the adder 5.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damage state detection method and a device of a wheel tread capable of automatically detecting accurately flat, exfoliation and heat crack of a wheel tread.
SOLUTION: Vibration of a track when a rolling stock is running is detected relative to each wheel by a vibration detection device, and a short-time effective value having a short integration time and a long-time effective value having a long integration time are operated from a detected signal. For example, the integration time of the short-time effective value is 100-300 mm in terms of the moving distance of the wheel tread, and the integration time of the long-time effective value is the perimetric length in terms of the moving distance of the wheel tread. The state of the wheel tread is detected, classified by the damage kind, for example, the independent flat and the heat crack, based on the relative relation between the short-time effective value and the long-time effective value as shown in the graph on figure. Since the heat crack can be discovered early and coped with, the amount of reconditioning of the wheel can be reduced.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the detection method and device of the damaged state of a wheel tread, for accurately detecting the actual damaged conditions of the wheel tread, without depending on someone else's help. SOLUTION: Shocking vibrations are generated, when a railroad car drives is detected by a detection device 2 to detect the damaged state of the wheel tread. In a first invention, when the detection signal is an acceleration signal, a frequency characteristic correction curve for emphasizing low frequency is used for correction. When the detection signal is an acceleration signal or a displacement signal, a frequency characteristic correction curve, that is equivalent to the speed signal or the displacement signal, is used for correction, and the damaged state of the wheel tread is detected, based on the calculation value. In a second invention, either of the effective value of the detection signal, the average value of the absolute value, and the root-mean-square value is calculated, and the damaged state of the wheel tread is detected, based on the calculation value.
