SOLUTION: The floodlight comprises a trolley 11, a discharge lamp 19 installed on the trolley 11, and an electronic ballast 30 for lighting the discharge lamp 19, by stabilizing the electric power supplied from a generator 21. The electronic ballast 30 comprises a push button switch 38 for light control, which is capable of selecting a plurality of light control state; and a control circuit 45 (control circuit) which, when electric power is supplied to the electronic ballast, supplies power corresponding to the initial state to the discharge lamp 19, by resetting the light control state selected by the light control switch; and after the discharge of the discharge lamp 19 has supplied power corresponding to the light control state selected by the push button switch 38 for light control. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new moving type flood light capable of stably lighting a high pressure discharge lamp for a long period of time by power supplied from a battery such as a storage battery or a fuel cell as a power supply. SOLUTION: The electric power from a battery 10 is supplied to the high pressure discharge lamp 6 through an electronic ballast 12. In the electronic ballast 12, the DC power output from the battery 10 by a plurality of DC/DC converters 15, 16 of a power adjusting means 13 is boosted up to an operating voltage of the high pressure discharge lamp 6, and then, the DC power after boosted by an DC/AC inverter 14 is converted into AC and supplied to the high pressure discharge lamp 6. Thereby, compared with a conventional type using an DC/AC inverter and a copper/iron stabilizer, the power output by the battery 10 can be supplied more efficiently and directly to the high pressure discharge lamp 6 and stable discharge can be continued.
