    • An optical element (1) extending from a center (2) outward in a plane (x-y), said element being arranged to provide an output light distribution in an output direction (z) out of said plane (x-y). Said element comprises a light transmitting area (22) arranged at a first distance (Rl) from the center (2) to transmit light further outward in relation to said center (2); a light collimating region (40) extending in said plane (x-y) from a distance being at least said first distance (Rl) to a second distance (R2) from said center (2), said light collimating region (40) being arranged to receive light from said light transmitting area (22) and to guide the received light with a collimating effect; and a reflector (42c, 62) arranged at least at said second distance (R2) from said center (2), said reflector (42c, 62) being arranged to receive light from said light collimating region (40). There is also provided a lighting device, preferably a luminaire, comprising the optical element (1) and at least one light source, preferably a light emitting diode, said at least one light source being arranged to provide light to the light transmitting area (22).

    • A light-emitting panel (1) has a light-emitting window (2) and a rear wall (3) situated opposite thereto. The light-emitting panel has at least one light-ingress edge (4) for coupling light from a light source (6B, 6G, 6R) into the light-emitting panel. The light-emitting panel is provided with a plurality of slits (8, 8', 8", ...) for coupling out light from the light-emitting panel. The slits extend from the rear wall to the light-emitting window. Material in the slits has a refractive index different from the refractive index of the light-emitting panel. Preferably, the slits are filled with a dielectric material, preferably, with air. Preferably, the slits are substantially flat planes and are substantially parallel with respect to each other. Preferably, the slits are arranged under an angle a with respect a normal on the light-emitting window. Preferably 30°≤α≤40°. Preferably, light is coupled out from the light-emitting panel by specular reflection.
