摘要： The disclosure provides a multilayered tissue web comprising treated cellulosic fibers selectively disposed in one or more layers, wherein the tissue layer comprising treated fibers is adjacent to a layer comprising untreated fiber and which is substantially free from untreated fiber. Generally the treated fibers have a rate of substitution of about 0.02 to 0.07. In this manner, the disclosure provides a multi-layered tissue web having treated fiber selectively incorporated therein, where the tissue web has basis weight greater than about 10 grams per square meter (gsm), such as from about 10 to about 50 gsm, a sheet bulk greater than about 8 cc/g, such as from about 8 to about 15 cc/g and Stiffness Index less than about 15, such as from about 8 to about 12.

摘要： An absorbent composite material may be manufactured by applying a flexible absorbent binder polymer (FAB), also referred to herein as a flexible superabsorbent, during the creping step of conventional tissue manufacturing. As such, the costly process of applying FAB to a substrate by spraying or printing followed by drying may be eliminated. The creping step has the additional advantage of improving the flexibility and softness of the FAB treated fibrous web.

At least a portion of at least one region of the substrate has been modified by aperturing, calendering, coating, creping, heating, printing stretching, or a combination thereof to impart at least one different fluid handling function. 摘要： An absorbent binder composition is provided which is capable of spontaneous crosslinking after application to a substrate, at a temperature of about 120°C or less. The absorbent binder composition includes a monoethylenically unsaturated polymer, such as carboxylic acid, sulphonic acid, or phosphoric acid, or salts thereof, or a quarternary ammonium salt, and an acrylate or methacrylate ester that contains an alkoxysilane functionality, or a monomer capable of co-polymerization with a compound containing a trialkoxy silane functional group and subsequesnt reaction with water to form a silanol group. The absorbent binder composition is particularly suitable for use in manufacturing a wide variety of absorbent articles. A method of making the absorbent binder composition includes preparing a monomer solution, adding the monomer solution to an initiator solution which can also contain monomer, and activating a polymerization initiator within the initiator solution.A flexible absorbent binder composition is also provided which is capable of spontaneous crosslinking after application to a substrate, at a temperature of about 120°C or less. The flexible absorbent binder composition includes about 15 to about 99.8% by mass monoethylenically unsaturated polymer units, about 0.1 to about 20% by mass polyacrylate ester units having an alkoxysilane functionality, and about 0.1 to about 75% by mass of polymer units selected from polyolefin glycols and polyolefin oxides. The flexible absorbent binder composition can be prepared using a template polymerization process, with the preformed polyolefin glycol or polyolefin oxide serving as a template polymer.

摘要： An absorbent composite has a low capacity region and a high capacity region in planar relationship to the low capacity region, where the high capacity region comprises between 1% and 10% by weight elastomeric polymer fibers and between 60% and 98% by weight superabsorbent material with respect to that region, and where the low capacity region comprises at least 10% by weight elastomeric polymer fibers and less than 10% by weight superabsorbent material. In some embodiments, the absorbent composite can further comprise additional regions. The regions are substantially joined by intermingling of the elastomeric polymer fibers between the regions, to form a generally unitary, stratified absorbent composite. The absorbent composite can be utilized in an absorbent article, the result of which is an absorbent article that exhibits improved performance as well as greater comfort and confidence among the user.

摘要： The present invention provides tissue webs and products that are manufactured by non-compressive dewatering and/or drying methods, such as through-air drying, where the webs and products comprise cross-linked fiber. The non-compressively dewatered tissue webs and products have improved sheet bulk and z-direction properties. For example, in one embodiment, the invention provides through-air dried tissue products having good sheet bulk and resiliency, such as a sheet bulk greater than about 15 cc/g and Compression Energy (E) greater than about 1.30 N/m. Surprisingly the foregoing products have sufficient strength to withstand use, such as a GMT greater than about 600 g/3", but are not overly stiff, generally having a Stiffness Index less than about 12.

摘要： The invention relates to creped prebiotic tissue products. The tissue products comprise prebiotics in sufficiently high amounts to have a prebiotic effect in use, without negatively affecting tissue product properties, such as tensile strength, stiffness or softness. Thus, in certain embodiments the present invention provides soft, durable creped prebiotic tissue products that are able to improve the growth of healthy bacteria such as Bifidobacterium spp. or Lactobacillus spp . without promoting growth of enteropathogenic bacteria. The tissue products provide these benefits yet have a GMT greater than about 500, a Stiffness Index less than about 20 and a TS7 value less than about 10.

摘要： A tissue product comprising an additive composition onto at least the surface of a fibrous article in order to increase the surface potential of the article, while retaining or improving manufacturing efficiency is disclosed. The additive composition comprises a bacteriostatic component and more preferably a water-soluble adhesive component and a bacteriostatic component. In some aspects, the additive may also contain additional water- soluble modifier components. Tissue products according to the present disclosure can attract and trap negatively charged matter, such as bacteria, into the tissue web. As such, tissue products can pickup bacteria from a surface and substantially hold the bacteria in the sheet to help prevent spreading bacteria to other surfaces.
