摘要： An image reading apparatus for reading the image surface of a sheet material brought into close contact with the image reading surface of an image reading unit while passing the sheet material through an image reading gap formed between the sheet conveying surface of a sheet conveying guide and the image reading surface, including a holding member for holding the image reading unit for movement in a direction to change the width of the image reading gap, an upstream roller pair having a first roller member displaceable in accordance with the thickness of the sheet material, and for nipping and conveying the sheet material into the image reading gap, and a downstream roller pair having a second roller member displaceable in accordance with the thickness of the sheet material, and for nipping and conveying the sheet material out of the image reading gap, wherein the image reading unit changes the width of the image reading gap on the basis of the displacement of at least one of the first roller member and the second roller member.

摘要： A sheet feeding apparatus has a pair of feeding roller and separating roller an inter-shaft distance changing mechanism for the pair of rollers, and sheet detecting means, and a sheet fed is rammed against the surface on which the feeding roller and the separating roller overlap each other to thereby correct skew feeding, and the feeding roller and the separating roller are moved away from each other to thereby feed the sheet. When the passage of the fed sheet between the feeding roller and the separating roller is detected the feeding roller and the separating roller assume a state in which sheet feeding is impossible. By the above-described operation being performed for each sheet, the correction of skew feeding and the separation of a sheet are effected by the feeding roller and the separating roller.

摘要： An image reading apparatus is capable of being switched between an observation state in which an image on a recording medium is projected onto a screen and observed and a read state in which the image is projected onto a reading unit and read. The apparatus includes a projecting lens provided in a lower portion of the apparatus to project the image, a rockable first reflecting member provided in an upper portion of the apparatus to reflect the image light from the projecting lens and, a second reflecting member provided in opposition to the screen to guide the image light reflected by the first reflecting member to the screen. A third reflecting member is provided below the second reflecting member to guide the image light reflected by the first reflecting member to the reading unit. The observation state and the read state are switched by the rocking motion of the first reflecting member.

摘要： A projection copying apparatus having an image forming lens, a first reflection member opposed to the lens, a reader optical path lens system and a printer optical path lens system. The reader optical path lens system includes a movable reflection member, and projects an image onto a screen when the apparatus is in a reading mode. When the apparatus is in a printing mode, a driving device moves the printer optical path lens system in such a manner to reflect light from the first reflection member onto a photosensitive medium. The movable reflection member is moved in and out of a reflection light path of the first reflection member to change the apparatus between the reading mode and the printing mode.

摘要： An image reading apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of a streak and reading a quality image from the leading edge to the trailing edge of a original. An original is conveyed along a convey pass. The original being conveyed is guided by a guide member, at least part of the guide member being transparent. An image of the original being conveyed is read by an image sensor through the guide member. Airflow is generated, the airflow being blown into the convey pass from a location upstream in a conveying direction compared to a location of the image sensor. The guide member has a convex portion disposed at a location upstream in the conveying direction compared to the location of the image sensor.
