The diameter of the solid core, the deflection of the core when compressed under a final load of 130 kgf from an initial load of 10 kgf, the hardness at the center of the core, the hardness in a region 5 mm to 10 mm from the center of the core, the hardness 15 mm from the center of the core, and the surface hardness are set within specific ranges. The intermediate layer is composed primarily of a material obtained by mixing under applied heat a specific resin composition and the cover is formed primarily of polyurethane. And, the number of dimples and the trajectory volume TVT are set within specific ranges. The golf ball of the invention has an excellent flight performance, feel, controllability and scuff resistance.

Such a golf ball has an increased initial velocity, particularly when struck in a high head speed range, enabling an increased distance to be achieved, in addition to which the ball is able to obtain a good feel on impact.

摘要： The invention provides a multi-piece solid golf ball having a solid core, an inner cover layer and an outer cover layer, which outer cover layer has a plurality of dimples on a surface thereof. The value obtained by subtracting a material hardness (Shore D) of the outer cover layer from a material hardness (Shore D) of the inner cover layer is greater than −5 and less than +5. The dimples number at least 250 and not more than 500, have a surface coverage (SR) of at least 70% and a volume ratio (VR) of at least 1.0%, are of at least three types of mutually differing dimple diameter (DM) and/or dimple depth (DP), and have an average depth of at least about 0.18 mm and a diameter-to-depth ratio (DM/DP) of not more than about 23. The ball has a coefficient of lift CL at a Reynolds number of 70,000 and a spin rate of 2,000 rpm which is maintained at 60% or more of the coefficient of lift CL at a Reynolds number of 80,000 and a spin rate of 2,000. This multi-piece solid golf ball is able to substantially reduce the distance traveled by the ball when struck at a high HS, while at the same time holding down the reduction in distance when struck at a low HS.

摘要： In a solid golf ball comprising an elastic solid core and a resin cover, the cover has a JIS-C hardness of 50-85, and provided that the ball receives a spin rate S1 (rpm) in the dry state and a spin rate S2 (rpm) in the wet state when hit with a short iron having a loft of an 8-iron or greater, the percent spin retention: (S2/S1)×100 is at least 47%. The ball's spin susceptibility when hit with the short iron is not reduced in the dry state or fine weather, nor is noticeably reduced even in the wet state or rain weather. The ball has so high performance that the ball travels a distance as intended, immediately stops on the green, is easy to control and thus, suited for professional and amateur low-handicap golfers.

The ball prevents any undesired increase of spin upon driver shots without detracting from rebound, has good flight performance, and receives enough spin to facilitate control on short iron shots.
