    • A system for limiting repeated accesses to an electronic device, particularly to an electronic device receiving power from an external source, is disclosed. According to this system, each consecutive access done to this electronic device in less than a predetermined delay increases a counter that value determines another delay during which electronic device is idle. Preferably, the delay during which electronic device is idle is an exponen- tial function of the counter value. Thanks to this delay, one can not reasonably determine the function of the electronic device by testing a great number of input values, preventing copying this device. According to the invention, the system for limiting repeated accesses to the electronic device comprises, a counter, a counter reset that maintains the value of the counter for a predetermined delay after the power off of the system, and a logic access circuit adapted to increase the value of the counter each time an access is done to the electronic device and to idle the electronic device for a delay depending upon the value of the counter.

    • The present invention discloses a method, system and computer programs embarked in a vehicle, for estimating traffic conditions based on positioning information exchanged with other vehicles using wireless communication means. A short range transmitter embarked in a vehicle (car, lorry, bus, etc...), broadcasts preferably at regular time intervals (for instance every 1 or 10 seconds): the geographical position of the vehicle (measured for example by means of a positioning system; and means for identifying this vehicle. The rest of the time the system embarked in the vehicle the identification and position of all other similar systems embarked in the other vehicles. Each equipped vehicle is aware of the position of all the other vehicles located at a distance which depends on the range of the transmitter. The embarked system is connected to a navigation and cartographic system in order to calculate the speed of each other equipped vehicle and to locate them on a map by means of the navigation and cartographic system embarked in the vehicle. It is possible to flag by means of a particular colour (for instance, in red, yellow or blue), each street /road to give to the driver of the vehicle an indication of the traffic. A navigation system can find alternate routes in order to avoid traffic jams and can recommend one or more itineraries based on an estimated average time.

    • A method is disclosed to create files in a file system hierarchy in a way which facilitates their retrieval. The method of the preferred embodiment allows to manage a file by creating , retrieving, deleting, copying and moving the file in a file hierarchy as displayed through the graphical user interface provided with the operating system. The file is saved in one folder under a file name and a possibility is given to the user to save the file under the same file name or different file names in different folders which are all in relation with the context of the file creation. The user will multiply his chances to retrieve the file in different folders when he desires access it later on. The principle is to create a real file in a first designated folder and to create shortcut files in the other folders. The list of shortcut files is saved as a hidden file in the same directory as the real file. The advantage of the invention is to take benefit of the shortcut function available in most operating systems.

    • The present invention describes a RFID tag and a system and method involving a plurality of RFID tags. Each RFID tag is attached to an object (or to a structure or a person) on which the presence of a predefined fluid is monitored. In a first state, (absence of the monitored fluid), the tag is acting as a passive RFID tag, and the information it holds, (at least its identifier - ID), can be read with a proximity reader (a hand held or stationary/fixed reader). This operation is performed when the RFID tag is attached to the object (or person) to be monitored. At this stage a table associating tag ID, object name (or person name) and location (or any other information), may be built, and may be recorded so that information it contains is accessible by a control center. In a second state, whenever the monitored fluid appears on the tagged object, a fluid activated battery generates the electrical power which is used to power the RFID tag. The RFID tag then acts as an active RFID tag and starts to emit messages (an alert for instance) which can be received by a distant RFID reader. Alert messages include at least the tag ID but may comprise additional information like a name or a location.
