    • The present invention relates to a weighted pixel interpolation method for improving an iris recognition rate, in which an iris image comprising the radius of an outer circle including the entire iris image and the radius of an inner circle placed within a pupil where the iris image is not included is stored, and iris image data is processed while minimizing the volume of an image file that is important in iris recognition. In the weighted pixel interpolation method of the present invention, when an iris image acquired from a camera is transformed from an orthogonal coordinate to a polar coordinate or from a polar coordinate to an orthogonal coordinate in the process of recognizing an iris, an image pixel in a coordinate system does not match or correspond to an image pixel in the other coordinate system, and thus an iris recognition rate is degraded.
