摘要： 1373513 Preparing 2-chloroethane phosphonic acid FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 10 Dec 1971 [15 Dec 1970 9 July 1971 29 Sept 1971] 57469/71 Heading C2P 2-Chloroethane phosphonic acid is obtained by cleaving 2-chloroethane phosphonic acid bis-(2- chloroethyl) ester with aqueous HCl, optionally in the presence of gaseous HCl, at above 100‹ C. and under elevated pressure, continuously or discontinuously distilling off the 1,2-dichloroethane formed during the reaction and maintaining an elevated pressure by adding gaseous HCl continuously or discontinuously during the reaction. Preferred reaction conditions are the use of HCl of 30 to 38% by weight concentration, carrying out the cleavage at 110 to 190‹ C. and the maintenance of a pressure of from 1 to 10 atmospheres gauge. The 2-chloroethane phosphonic acid bis-(2-chloroethyl)ester is suitably obtained by reacting PCl 3 with ethylene oxide in o-dichlorobenzene and then heating the resulting tris-(2-chloroethyl)phosphite e.g. for 8 hours at 150-170‹ C., detailed examples being given. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,229,593.
