摘要： A sand control screen assembly (100) for use in a subterranean well. The sand control screen assembly (100) includes a base pipe (102) having an outer surface and at least one opening (104). A screen jacket (106) is disposed around the base pipe (102). The screen jacket (106) has a filter medium (112) and an outer shroud (114). The outer shroud (114) has first and second ends (124, 126) with inner and outer surfaces. Connector rings (120, 122) form mechanical interfaces between the base pipe (102) and the first and second ends (124, 126), respectively, of the outer shroud (114). Each of the connector rings (120, 122) is operable to mechanically induce permanent deformation in the outer surface of the base pipe (102) and at least one of the inner surface and the outer surface of the outer shroud (114), thereby connecting the screen jacket (106) to the base pipe (102).

摘要： A downhole fluid flow control system includes a fluidic module (150) having a main fluid pathway (152), a valve (162) and a bridge network. The valve (162) has a first position wherein fluid flow through the main fluid pathway (152) is allowed and a second position wherein fluid flow through the main fluid pathway (152) is restricted. The bridge network has first and second branch fluid pathways (163, 164) each having a common fluid inlet (166, 168) and a common fluid outlet (170, 172) with the main fluid pathway (152) and each including two fluid flow resistors (174, 176, 180, 182) with a pressure output terminal (178, 184) positioned therebetween. In operation, the pressure difference between the pressure output terminals (178, 184) of the first and second branch fluid pathways (163, 164) shifts the valve (162) between the first and second positions.

The sand control screen assembly (40) includes a base pipe (42) having at least one opening (60) and an internal flow path (44). A swellable material layer (46) is disposed exteriorly of the base pipe (42). A fluid collection subassembly (50) is disposed exteriorly of the swellable material layer (46). The fluid collection subassembly (50) is in fluid communication with the internal flow path (44). A filter medium (62) is operably associated with the sand control screen assembly (40) and is disposed in a fluid path between the exterior of the sand control screen assembly (40) and the internal flow path (44). In response to contact with an activating fluid, radial expansion of the swellable material layer (46) causes at least a portion of the fluid collection subassembly (50) to contact the wellbore (48).

摘要： A system operable to seal at least a portion of a well downhole from a horizontal segment of the well includes an electric wireline having a position locator for locating the position of a flow control device or leak in a tubing segment of the well. The wireline system also includes a setting tool for actuating an expandable patch positioned that is configured to restrict the flow of fluid into the tubing segment at a determined location determined by the position locator. An actuator may be coupled to the setting tool and configured to actuate the tool to install the expandable patch at the determined location to restrict flow. A tractor powered by the wireline may also be provided to transport the system along the horizontal well to position the patch at the determined location.
