    • The invention relates to the use of a cutting cylinder unit (2) and to a cutting device for shaping a plant, such as a boxwood bush. The cutting device comprises at least one cutting cylinder unit. The cutting cylinder unit comprises a cutting cylinder (7) with a surface of revolution (11) which is rotationally symmetrical with respect to a cylinder centre axis (10) and with cutting members (8) provided along the said surface of revolution; a cylinder drive (9) for driving the cutting cylinder in rotation about the cylinder centre axis (10); and a cutting edge (12) which is provided along the outside of the surface of revolution (11) for interacting in a cutting manner with the cutting members (8). The surface of revolution (11) and the cutting edge (12), as seen in the direction of the cylinder centre axis (10), have corresponding curvatures. This curvature is substantially matched to a predetermined desired shape of the plant. The curvature of the surface of revolution is in particular concave with respect to the cylinder centre axis, and the curvature of the cutting edges in particular correspondingly convex with respect to the cylinder centre axis. The invention also relates to a vehicle provided with a cutting device according to the invention and to the use of a cutting device according to the invention for shaping a plant, in particular a boxwood plant.

    • The invention relates to a harvesting device for harvesting plants with an underground plant part, such as trees or bushes. The harvesting device comprises two cutting wheels (11,12), which are positioned at a lateral distance from one another, for cutting free a strip of earth which is laterally defined by the said cutting wheels (11,12). The harvesting device also comprises removal means (14,15,16) for guiding the strip of earth which has been cut free away from the cutting wheels (11,12). The rotation pins (18,19) of the cutting wheels (11,12), as seen in the longitudinal direction of the strip of earth which is to be cut free, are at a distance of from ¼ D to 1½ D from one another, where D is the diameter of the cutting wheels (11,12). The cutting wheels (11,12) may be designed so that they can pivot about in each case one pivot pin (25,29) extending in the upward direction, which pivot pin (25,29) in in this case, as seen in the harvesting direction, lies in front of the rotation pin (18,19) of the respective cutting wheel (11,12). Moreover, the pivot pin (25,29) of each respective cutting wheel (11,12) may lie on that side of the plane defined by the said respective cutting wheel (11,12) which is remote from the strip of earth.
