摘要： A system automatically captures a fundus image with limited user interaction such that the fundus image has one or more desired characteristics. The system can retrieve at least one image from an image capture device, process the at least one image digitally to generate a processed image, detect at least one point of interest in the processed image, determine that each of the at least one point of interest is representative of a corresponding feature of the eye, and obtain a fundus image of the eye based on the at least one image.

摘要： Disclosed in this specification is a luminaire with a vented iris controller disposed on the external surface of the housing of the luminaire. The controller is for dilating and constricting the iris, thus controlling the size of the illuminated spot, wherein the iris controller is comprised of a hollow cylinder, rotatable relative to the housing. The cylinder has an inner ring and an outer ring, wherein the inner ring and outer ring are connected by a plurality of braces and vented spaces are present between each of the braces. Advantageously, the vented spaces help keep the outer ring cool, thus facilitating the operation of the iris controller by a user.

摘要： A diagnostic instrument includes an illumination system for providing illuminating light and an imaging system for directing the illuminating light to a target and for transmitting light reflected from the target to a viewing location. The imaging system includes an electrically controllable variable focus liquid lens assembly for focusing the light reflected from the target at the viewing location. The liquid lens assembly includes at least one liquid lens including a housing filled with a first liquid, and a drop of a second liquid being in contact with the first liquid in a predetermined form. The lens further includes a first electrode insulated from the second liquid and a second electrode in electrical contact with the first liquid. A variable voltage control selectively applies a voltage to the first and second electrodes to vary the focus of the lens. An electronic imager is provided to capture the reflected target image.
