    • PURPOSE:To improve the capacity of preventing corrosion of a lining by such an arrangement wherein a tape is wrapped around an item to be protected from corrosion, and then it is heated and adhesive is fused simultaneously with the thermal shrinkage of plastic, while a layer of water resistive adhesive and an external layer of protective plastic are caused to tightly contact with the cover the outer circumference of the item to be protected. CONSTITUTION:A tape 1 is composed of a layer 2 of plastic on which a layer 3 of heat meltable adhesive is provided so that the right edge of the tape can be positively overlapped with and pasted to its left edge, and this tape 1 is wrapped around the outer periphery of a pipe (a). As the wrapped pipe is heated up to 100-130 deg.C, the layer of adhesive 3 is fused and the plastic layer 2 is caused to shrink by the revelation of memorized shape, and the outer layer fastens the pipe. Consequently, molten heat meltable adhesive is caused to flow in and fill up remained voids and it positively adheres to the surface of the pipe (a) and covers its surface, and under this condition, it is cooled naturally, thereby, the corrosion preventive lining of the surface of the pipe (a) is completed. Since the layer of adhesive 3 is perfectly of water resistive nature and it is also fastened by the heat shrinkable shape memorizing plastic layer 2, there is no possibility that water penetrates into the lining.
