摘要： A process of treating a woven fabric by applying to the fabric a viscous polymer in a 5 to 40 wt% solution with a solvent, wherein the polymer has a T9 in the range of about minus 40 to about 0°C and a zero shear melt viscosity of about 2 x 10 6 to about 10 13 poise when measured at 2O°C and then evaporating the solvent such that the polymer only partially penetrates the fabric and penetrates to in and between fiber bundles before the polymer solidifies.

摘要： A composite useful in a ballistic resistant armor article comprises a first nonwoven layer comprising a first plurality of yarns the yarns comprising a first plurality of para-aramid filaments, the first plurality of yarns arranged parallel with each other and a second nonwoven layer comprising a second plurality of yarns comprising a second plurality of para-aramid filaments, the second plurality of yarns arranged parallel with each other. The first plurality of yarns of the first layer have an orientation in a direction that is different from the orientation of the second plurality of yarns in the second layer. The yarns have an elongation at break of 3.6 to 5.0 percent. The composite further comprises a thermoset or thermoplastic binding resin in the region of the interface between the two layers and a viscoelastic resin coating at least portions of external surfaces of the first and second pluralities of yarns.

摘要： The present invention relates to body armor articles for resisting ballistic objects. The articles comprise woven fabric layers and sheet layers. The woven fabric layers are made from yarns having a tenacity of at least 7.3 grams per dtex and a modulus of at least 100 grams per dtex. The sheet layers comprise non-woven random oriented fibrous sheets and/or non fibrous films.
