    • The loom, for weaving leno fabrics, has a powered assembly (1) with at least one guide (2) for the leno yarns (3) and a bar (4) with a number of axially parallel passage holes (6) for the standing yarns (5). A second powered assembly (16) has a deflector (17) to deflect the leno yarns (3), and a needle bar (18) with a number of needles (19) each fitted with an eyelet (19.1) to guide the leno yarns (3). The two powered assemblies (1,16) are at the warp side of the reed (31), under the weaving plane. The two powered assemblies (1,16) are linked to a common drive. The first powered assembly (1) has a horizontal oscillating movement, and the second assembly (16) has a vertical oscillating movement. The common drive is a conventional eccentric shed-formation drive mechanism, with transmission links to the two assemblies (1,16). The first powered assembly (1) has a U-shaped frame shape, open upwards with two legs, to take the guide (16) for the leno yarns (3) between them. The yarn deflector (17) and the needle bar (18) are near the free upper end of the second assembly (16). A number of rods, with length adjustment, give a linkage connection to the machine frame links, and at least one coupling gives a horizontal oscillating movement to the first assembly (1) from the drive. A similar rod structure, with a number of couplings, links the second assembly (16) with the drive. The first assembly (1) has at least one further connection (14) to give side support at a coupling (15) with spring elasticity or a rod with an adjustable length, located at a suitable point at the loom. The two assemblies can have separate and dedicated drives, with a pneumatic or electromagnetic or electromotor drive to give the first assembly (1) a horizontal oscillating movement, and an eccentric drive to give a vertical oscillating movement to the second assembly (16). The loom has a jet fluid carrier to pass the wefts through the shed, or the wefts are inserted mechanically. The loom has a needle bar structure to carry the leno and standing yarns (3,5) over the weaving plane (28) and a similar structure for them under the weaving pane, with a common drive to power them both. A common closure covers the gaps between the blade needles at the bars.
