摘要： A face plate 1 for use in an ostomy appliance and comprising a layer 2 of skin friendly adhesive having a surface for being attached to the peristomal skin surface of a user of the appliance, a first aperture 10 formed through the layer and a membrane 11 of an elastically and/or plastically deformable material attached to the face plate and extending across and covering said aperture, a portion of said membrane covering the aperture being deformed in a direction transverse to the plane of the aperture 10 by means of pressure applied in that direction by a mandrel 13 or a finger so as to form a deformed portion of the membrane for use as a sheath for receiving the stoma after the free end of the sheath has been cut off along a cutting line 15.

摘要： An ostomy appliance comprising a stoma sheath (1) for being arranged between a face plate and an ostomy pouch of the appliance and partially sheathing a stoma when the stoma is inserted into the sheat when the face plate is attached to a peristomal skin surface, the stoma sheath comprising a closed loop portion (2) which can be a coupling ring for coupling the pouch to the face plate, and a first (45) and a second (46) sheath portion surrounded by said loop portion and each comprising tabs or fingers 50 and 53, respectively, each extending inwards from a fixed end thereof attached to or integral with the closed loop portion to a free end thereof, the tabs preferably consisting of a flexible, elastic and/or plastic material, such that the stoma will flex said tabs away from the skin surface when the ostomy appliance is attached to said skin surface, each of the tabs (45) of the first sheath portion partly overlying two adjacent tabs (46) of the second sheath portion along at least part of the length of the tabs from fixed end thereof to the free end thereof.
