摘要： An apparatus and method support various system bandwidths in a broadband wireless communication system. A Mobile Station (MS) operation includes determining a system bandwidth through a primary preamble for frame synchronization, which a Base Station (BS) transmits. A Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size, the number of guard subcarriers, and the number of used subcarriers corresponding to the system bandwidth are determined using a first table. An operation parameter of a modem is set according to the FFT size, the number of guard subcarriers, and the number of used subcarriers.

摘要： A Synchronization Channel (SCH) transmission method includes generating a Primary SCH (P-SCH) sequence according to supplementary information. The supplementary information includes at least one of Base Station (BS) type information, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size information, BandWidth (BW) information, group information, sector information, and carrier type information. The method also includes modulating the P-SCH sequence and mapping the modulated P-SCH sequence to subcarriers within a predefined subcarrier set. The subcarriers are included in the subcarrier set being spaced one subcarrier interval apart. The method further includes generating a P-SCH symbol by Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)-modulating the P-SCH sequence mapped to the subcarriers, and transmitting the P-SCH symbol.

摘要： An apparatus is provided for transmitting a signal in a communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. A controller determines a number of ‘0’s to be inserted in information data according to a first coding rate to be applied when generating the information data into an LDPC code, and determines the number of ‘0’s to be removed from the LDPC code. A ‘0’ inserter inserts ‘0s’ in the information data according to control of the controller. An LDPC encoder generates the LDPC code by encoding the ‘0’-inserted signal according to a first parity check matrix. A ‘0’ remover removes the inserted ‘0’s from the LDPC code.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for receiving data in a receiver of a communication system. In the receiver, a first calculator calculates a Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) value of data transmitted from a transmitter, a decoder performs iterative decoding on the transmitted data using the LLR value calculated by the first calculator. A second calculator determines whether there is an error in the decoded data by calculating an error of the data decoded by the decoder. A storage stores an LLR value of the decoded data according to the determination result of the second calculator. An adder adds up the LLR value calculated by the first calculator and the LLR value stored in the storage. A controller performs a control operation such that if the data transmitted from the transmitter is retransmitted data, the decoder performs iterative decoding using the LLR value added by the adder, and if the data transmitted from the transmitter is not retransmitted data, the decoder performs iterative decoding using the LLR value calculated by the first calculator.
