A stream table defining reproducible data streams, in which a reproducing apparatus selects at least one data stream to be reproduced during presentation of a playitem and a subplayitem, is checked. The playitem manages reproduction of the main data stream and the subplayitem manages reproduction of the downloaded supplementary data stream. The main and downloaded supplementary data streams defined in the stream table are reproduced.

摘要： A recording medium, and a method and apparatus for reproducing data from a recording medium using a local storage is disclosed. The recording medium includes: a first area for storing content data; and a second area for storing first identification (ID) information capable of identifying a content provider (CP) and second identification (ID) information capable of identifying the corresponding recording medium manufactured by the content provider (CP). The method for reproducing data from a recording medium using a local storage includes the steps of: a) reading a directory name for identifying a content provider recorded in the recording medium and a directory name for identifying the recording medium; b) recognizing a binding unit contained in a local storage directory having the same directory name as the read directory name; c) binding the binding unit with files contained in the recording medium, and forming a virtual package; and d) reproducing content data stored in the recording medium and content data stored in the local storage using the virtual package.

摘要： A recording medium, method, and apparatus for reproducing text subtitle streams are disclosed. A buffer initially preloads a text subtitle stream including a dialog style segment defining a group of region styles and first and second dialog presentation segments. A text subtitle decoder initially presents a first region of dialog text included in the first dialog presentation segment in a graphics plane and reads a continuous presentation flag included in the second dialog presentation segment, which includes a second region of dialog text. The text subtitle decoder presents the second region of dialog text by preserving the presentation of the first region of dialog text in the graphics plane if the continuous segment indicates that continuous presentation is required between the first and second regions of the dialog text.

摘要： The present invention relates to method and apparatus of recording/reproducing a non-MPEG formatted digital TV broadcast signal on/from a writable medium. The present recording method, when a digital TV broadcast signal composed of DirecTV transport packets is received, extracts data contained in DirecTV transport packets to form an A/V elementary stream, packetizes the A/V elementary stream into PES (Packetized Elementary Stream) packets, slices the PES packets into 184-byte stream pieces to produce a series of 188-byte Transport Packets defined in MPEG standard, and writes the series of Transport Packets sequentially on a recording medium. The present method can record a non-MPEG type of transport stream in MPEG recording format and reproduce the recorded transport stream to original DirecTV transport stream, whereby an applicability of a digital recorder is improved.
