摘要： © A wire inserting ram (3) is reciprocably mounted in a tool frame (1) which defines a guideway for a connector (7) extending transversely of the ram path. Spring biased wire- grippers (20) are mounted above a wire pusher (27, 28) at a forward end of the ram (7) to support a wire (22) against displacement on trimming between a pusher part (29) and a shear plate (18) on the frame, on forward movement of the ram (7). A bore (36) in the frame allows passage of trimmed wire. Cam means (26) on the frame (1) is arranged to engage the wire grippers (20) on withdrawal of the ram (7) to urge them against the spring bias to an open condition.

摘要： The apparatus is for terminating wires (W) to terminals (8) in a connector housing (4), for shearing from the housing (4), a cover (14) which is hinged thereto and for placing the cover (14) on the housing (4) to cover the connections. The connector housing (4) is conveyed by means of a first shuttle (50) to a cover shearing station (CS) at which the cover (14) is sheared from the housing (4) and is driven into a second shuttle (84). The first shuttle (50) is then moved to a terminating station (TS) at which wires are terminated to the terminals (8) by tooling (130) after which the second shuttle (84) is moved to the terminating station (TS) and the tooling (130) is operated to drive the severed cover (14) from the second shuttle (84) onto the connector housing (4).

摘要： A hand tool of generally known kind and having a reciprocable ram mounted in a tool frame which defines a guideway for a connector extending transversely of the ram path. The ram has a wire pusher adapted to push a wire into a contact in the connector and the connector is stepped across the ram path so that on successive ram strokes wires can be inserted into respective contacts. Reversible indexing means are provided comprising an index wheel (33) driven on withdrawal of the tool ram through a lost motion coupling (34) and a fork arm (54). The wheel (33) engages pitch pins (10) and precise indexing is controlled by a register pin (38) on a sprung lever (39). A moveable slide (49) selectively engages the fork with opposite sides of wheel (33) to effect indexing in opposite senses.
