    • PURPOSE: A floating point operation logic apparatus of a reactor protection system using FPGA,and an operating method thereof are provided to automatically control a trip by generating a trip signal according to a comparison result of a measurement voltage and a trip set value. CONSTITUTION: An input measurement voltage is converted into a binary-based count(501). A measurement value is calculated by multiplying the converted count by a unit value(503). The measurement value is changed into an integer by multiplying the measurement value by a decimal square(504). A trip signal is generated according to the comparison result of the calculated integer and the trip set value(507).
