    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve enabling the mounting of a fuel pressure sensor to accurately detect fuel pressure fluctuation generated during injection by inhibiting a sensor element from receiving influence of deformation of a body. SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve has an injector body 4z having high-pressure paths 6az, 6bz, 6cz allowing high-pressure fuel to flow to an injection hole formed inside and receiving a piezo actuator 2z (opening/closing mechanism), a back pressure control mechanism 3z (opening/closing mechanism), and the like; a stem 51z (deformable body) mounted on the body 4z and elastically deforming when subjected to pressure of the high-pressure fuel; and a strain gauge 52z (sensor element) mounted on the stem 51z and converting magnitude of deformation of the stem 51z into an electric signal and outputting it as a detected pressure value.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress variations of an injection mode in a fuel injection nozzle 1 that injects a fuel to an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: Regarding an extension line L of an axis γ and a center of gravity G of a sack chamber 16, the extension line L passes a front end side in the axial direction of the center of gravity G when a nozzle 1 is opened. This ensures that the center of an eddy current in the sack chamber 16 is formed above an opening 11a irrespective of whether the amount of lift of a needle 2 is smaller or larger than a critical value. Therefore, in flow lines a and b of a flow from a gap between a seat position 10 and a seat part 13 to the opening 11a, symmetry can be established between the flow line a when the amount of lift is smaller than the critical value and the flow line b when the amount of lift is larger than the critical value. Consequently, the influence exerted on an injection mode by a flow state of a fuel in the sack chamber 16 can be relaxed to suppress variations of the injection mode.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injector including a fuel pressure sensor, in which sealability of the fuel pressure sensor can be sufficiently improved. SOLUTION: The fuel injector includes a metal body 4 including a high pressure passage formed inside the body for distributing high pressure fuel to an injection hole, and the fuel pressure sensor attached to the body 4 to detect pressure of the high pressure fuel. The fuel pressure sensor includes a metal stem 51 (a strain element) resiliently deformed upon receiving pressure of the high pressure fuel, and a strain gauge 52 (a sensor element) that converts the magnitude of strain generated in the stem 51 into an electrical signal and outputs the signal as a pressure detection value. The body 4 includes a body side sealing surface 45b on which the stem 51 is pressed and closely-attached so that a clearance between the body and the stem 51 is metal-to-metal sealed.
