      SOLUTION: In the ORV, the plurality of fin tubes 2 are arranged in a panel shape, and an upper header 4 and the lower header 5 are jointed to the upper and lower ends of the fin tubes 2, respectively. LNG supplied to the lower header 5 is introduced in the fin tubes 2 and is vaporized, and the vaporized LNG is sent out of the upper header 4. The lower header 5 comprises: the outer pipe 9 to which the lower end of each fin tube 2 is jointed and which has closed both ends; and a sparge pipe 10 extended within the outer pipe 9 and having a terminal closed by a closing plate 12, wherein LNB is supplied from the start located on the opposite side to the terminal. In the sparge pipe 10, LNG spreading holes 16 are provided in the lower part of a pipe wall and a first gas vent port 17A is provided in the upper part of the closing plate 12.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater combustion type vaporization device 1 capable of shortening a start-up time thereof.SOLUTION: The underwater combustion type vaporization device 1 includes: an underwater combustion burner 2; a heat exchanger 12; a spark ignition device 4 for the underwater combustion burner; a distribution valve 5 which changes a flow rate proportion between primary air for combustion to be supplied into a combustion chamber 25 of the underwater combustion burner and secondary air for noncombution not to be supplied into the combustion chamber; and a controller 6 configured to control at least the spark ignition device and the distribution valve. The spark ignition device is arranged so as to extend in the vertical direction in the combustion chamber and, before ignition of the underwater combustion burner, performs a purge operation that jets only air into water by driving a blower 14 by a predetermined fixed time. The controller, in the course of the purge operation, adjusts the degree of opening of the distribution valve such that a flow rate of the primary air comes to a prescribed large flow rate and ignites the underwater combustion burner after the completion of the purge operation.
