Class 11 A device for use in making perspective drawings comprises a supporting device for representations e.g. plan and elevations, consisting of three members each providing a supporting surface, the members being so disposed in a main frame that the surfaces are mutually at right angles and each member is movable in a direction perpendicular to its own supporting surface across the two other supporting surfaces. The main frame 1 comprises three frame plates 1a, 1b, 1c, mutually secured to each other at rightangles. To each frame plate is attached a supporting surface through two sets of links hingedly connected together. Thus the frame 1b is connected to a link plate 2 by a hinge 3, the edge of the plate 2 opposite the hinge 3 being connected by a hinge 4 to a second link plate 5 in turn connected to a supporting plate 6 by a hinge 7. The plate 6 is also connected to the frame plate 1b by links 8, 10 hinged together in a direction 'perpendicular to the hinge connecting the links 2, 5. Supporting plates 19, 13 are similarly connected to the frame plate 1a, 1c. The supporting plates may therefore be moved in a direction perpendicular to the plane of their own surfaces. The main frame 1 is supported on a double quadrant arrangement comprising a sliding plate 29 supported in a grooved base member 31 and a second sector plate 33 to which the frame 1 is connected by a bolt 34 co-operating with a clamping device 36. An arm 37 is provided on the plate 29 on which is mounted a roller 38 serving to carry part of the weight of the main frame through an angle bracket and sector plate 39, rigidly secured to the frame 1 and which rests on the roller 38. The apparatus supports three representations of an object, along lines of view which are mutually perpendicular, the representations being traced by apparatus such as that described in Specification 747,728 [Group XX]. The perspective drawing obtained depends upon the angle at which the support is set by adjustment of the double quadrant arrangement.

Spring wheels. - A resilient wheel comprises a concentric pneumatic tube 7 fitted between an outer rigid ring 8 and a rim 6 which is supported on side discs 5 secured to the hub 1. The ring 8 is supported by discs 10 and carries a tread 9. Driving-connection between the hub 1 and the discs 10 is established by pins 11 which fit holes in the discs 10 and pass through larger holes in the plates 5. Each pin 11 supports a boss 12 carrying a small pneumatic ring or rubber buffer 13 which is held within a casing 14 secured between the discs 5. Hand-holes are provided in the discs 5 and 10 to allow access to the valve of the pneumatic ring 7; and to prevent the entrance of dirt a light metal or elastic cover may be fitted to the side of the wheel.

[Class 81 (i)] In a process and apparatus for producing a mixture of carbon dioxide and ethylene oxide for fumigating purposes a slush or fluent mixture of ethylene oxide and solid carbon dioxide is heated to vaporize the mixed compounds. A mixture of from 3 to 12 parts of carbon dioxide to one of ethylene oxide is employed. The apparatus used consists of a low pressure vessel 1 having a lid 2 for introduction of solid carbon dioxide, an inlet 3 for ethylene oxide, an inlet 4 for scavenging air, and an outlet pipe 6 for the vaporized mixed vapours. The outlet pipe passes below the vessel 1 and thence to the outlet 8 through the steam or water jacket 9 to which steam is supplied by a distributer 11. Specifications 318,898, [Class 81 (i)], 353,354 and 377,552 are referred to.

Spring wheels.-In a resilient wheel of the type described in the parent Specification having a concentric pneumatic tyre 7 fitted between an outer rigid ring 8 and a rim 6 on a hub body, the hub turning with and being cushioned by rubber buffers 13 within the wheel body, the rubber buffers 13 and the pneumatic tube 7 are now protected from wear and from pinching by enclosure in canvas or like fabric covers 30, 31 respectively. The coverings - fit the tubes and are formed with flaps 32 overlapped by the reinforced edges 33 which are drawn together by lacing cord through the eyelets 34. To prevent creeping, the coverings may be attached to the metal casings, and the wheel is enclosed on one side by an aluminium or like metal cover 22 and on the. other side by an apertured disc 35 in which the apertures are closed by a rubber or. like apron 24.

The pipe 6 may be connected to and open into the flush pipe 3 or the vent-pipe of the drainage system. With a group of closets all the pipes 6 have a common manifold fitted with a fan or each pipe 6 may be so fitted.
