    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a dispersion of a stop position of a golf ball at the time of striking by forming orthogonal separated surfaces in a center of striking on a face surface and setting each direction of the separated surfaces in a specified angel with respect to a vertical surface and forming the face surface unsymmetrically to the separated surfaces. SOLUTION: A face surface of an iron club comprises a curved face part 25 set in a lower part of a center of striking and a flat upper part 27. When a ball is struck in an area of the curved part 25, the ball is carried in a direction approximately represented by an arrow 23. For a mis-striking partially off from a lower edge of the iron, a narrow flat face surface is formed parallel with a face plane or a flat part thereof in a bottom edge of the curved part 25. Orthogonal separated surfaces are set in the center of striking on the face surface, wherein each direction of the separated surfaces is set in an angle of 15 deg.-165 deg. with respect to a vertical surface. And the face is formed unsymmetrically to the separated surfaces.

    • A beam compass including a base having a center pivot pin and a bore, and including a portion extending from the base to a center pivot reference point. An elongated beam member is mounted within the bore such that the base is slidably and revolvably adjustable along the length of the beam member. A pencil or pen guide is carried by an outer end of the beam member for guiding a marking instrument. The guide includes a first portion extending from the beam member to a first reference point. The first portion defines at least one aperture. A marking instrument positioned to project through the aperture will engage a drawing surface. An arc or circle traced by rotating the marking instrument relative to the center pivot on the base will have a radius equal to the distance between the first reference point and the center pivot reference point.
