摘要： An enhanced life sized human-figure display system that moves in a predetermined fashion to attract the attention of shoppers and passersby. The figure consists of a number of separate body shaped parts connected together by hinged joints with flexible mechanical control cables connected individually to the body parts. A movement control unit containing an electric motor and a reduction gearbox drives a camshaft fitted with a number of cams, which operate levers which operate the cables that control the movement of the body parts of the figure. The movement control unit is external to the figure and can be exchanged for another with a different number of cams, levers and cables to alter the movement of the figure.

摘要： A ventricular assist device includes a pump such as an axial flow pump, an outflow cannula connected to the outlet of the pump, and an anchor element. The anchor element is physically connected to the pump, as by an elongate element. The pump is implanted within the left ventricle with the outflow cannula projecting through the aortic valve but desirably terminating short of the aortic arch. The anchor element is fixed to the wall of the heart near the apex of the heart so that the anchor element holds the pump and outflow cannula in position.

摘要： A novel gene is provided which is associated with audiogenic seizures in mice. The disclosed gene is known as the Monogenic Audiogenic Seizure-susceptible gene or massl, with a product designated MASS 1. Nucleic acid molecules that encode for MASS I have been identified and purified. Mammalian genes encoding MASSI are also provided. The invention also provides recombinant vectors comprising nucleic acid molecules that code for a MASS I protein. The invention also relates to transgenic animals in which one or both alleles of the endogenous mass1 gene is mutated. The invention further relates to a hearing impairment associated with the Frings MASS1 mutation. More specifically, the invention characterizes a moderate and non-progressive hearing impairment which leads to the development of audiogenic seizures.

摘要： A club stroke alignment tool is used to evaluate and modify a club stroke. The club stroke alignment tool includes a contact plate that is rotatably coupled to a base that is movable on a surface. When hit with a club, the club stroke alignment tool provides data about an amount of rotation of a clubface, discrepancy from a center strike, and swing trajectory. The data is compared to a predetermined standards to find one or more discrepancies. If discrepancies exist, the stoke is modified to reduce the discrepancies on the next impact between the club and the club stroke alignment tool.
