SOLUTION: An X-ray tube includes a vacuum enclosure that houses both a positive electrode having a target surface, and a negative electrode positioned with respect to the positive electrode. The negative electrode includes the filament assembly for emitting a beam of electrons during tube operation. The filament assembly comprises a heat sink and a plurality of filament segments. The plurality of filament segments are configured to simultaneously emit electron beams to be impinged on the target surface of the positive electrode, and are electrically connected in series. Each filament segment includes first and second end portions that are thermally connected to the heat sink, and a central portion having its work function modified to preferentially emit electrons.

SOLUTION: This method for using the X-ray apparatus comprises: simultaneously emitting N pieces of parallel fan beams from an X-ray source to a sample to be inspected; shielding detector arrays so as not to receive direct line of sight of X-ray beams, whereby a set of exposed detector arrays is formed; simultaneously collecting a signal from the detector arrays exposed to the X-ray beams adjacent to the shielded detector arrays and a signal from the shielded detector arrays representing crosstalk; analyzing the collected signals in a computer and providing a correction value of crosstalk for the position of each exposed detector array; and correcting the exposed detector array signals by subtracting the correction value corresponding to the position of the exposed detector array.
