    • Disclosed is a method and a device for adjusting the height of a slitter blade wherein the quality at a slitting section of a cardboard web is ensured in a slitter device by finding an optimal engaging point of a receiving roll and a slitter blade, and setting of the engaging point can be achieved easily by a simple and low cost mechanism. A center of a slitter blade is located on the downstream side of a center of a receiving roll in the traveling direction of a cardboard web, the slitter blade and the receiving roll are rotated such that the outer circumferential surfaces thereof move in the same direction as the traveling direction of a cardboard web, light beams are irradiated in the width direction of the cardboard web to pass through a contact position of the outer circumferential surface of the receiving roll with the cardboard web, the slitter blade is brought close towards the receiving roll, and a position where the circular outer edge of the slitter blade intercepts the light beams is determined as a slitting position of the cardboard web for the slitter blade.

    • An improved disc-shaped knife rotary cutter which has a reduced size and is not complicated in structure as a whole, and which require a knife only on the upper side of a traveling sheet. The knife can be used over a long period and paper powder produced as a result of cutting of a sheet by the knife can be removed by a suction box extending over a full width of the sheet. The improved rotary cutter performs cutting by moving a knife edge portion of a rotating disc-shaped knife into a surface of a sheet being successively fed. Furthermore, grindstones for grinding the knife edge of the disc-shaped knife are provided so as to be movable in the axial direction of a shaft of the disc-shaped knife, and in addition, there is provided a felt immersed in soapy water for peeling off paste from the knife.
