    • 226,358. Fisher, W. T. Nov. 27, 1923. Magazine wrenches; rigid-jaw; wrenches; retaining in engagement; shanks. - Magazine or box spanners are provided with an india-rubber ring at the mouth of the body serving as a protective buffer to prevent damage to the paint or enamel upon any structure with which it is to be used. The rubber ring may project slightly beyond the end of the body, and may serve to maintain in position the nut retaining devices. The body 1 has a cylindrical exterior and is of hexagonal or other shape inside to suit the nuts. The rubber ring 13 at the mouth is retained in position by its own elasticity, or by adhesive or cement, or a peripheral rib on the body may engage a correspond groove in the inside of the ring. The forward end 14 of the ring projects slightly beyond the end of the body. Each nut passing into the bore of the spanner is retained therein by short lengths of wire or rod 11 mounted in slots 10 near the mouth of the body, the rubber ring serving to maintain these rods resiliently in position. A movable block 15, acting as a back stop for the nuts, is engaged by a spring 4 bearing agains a depression 3 at the rear end of the body, which has an extension 5 provided with an aperture 6 for the shank 7 of a driving handle. Specifications 211,036 and 213,480 are referred to.

    • PCT No. PCT/AU95/00280 Sec. 371 Date Nov. 12, 1996 Sec. 102(e) Date Nov. 12, 1996 PCT Filed May 15, 1995 PCT Pub. No. WO95/31404 PCT Pub. Date Nov. 23, 1995The invention provides water sterilizing apparatus (10) adapted to employ the process of heavy metal sterilization and including a body (11) defining a chamber (12) formed with spaced inlet and outlet openings (13, 14) whereby water may be caused to flow through the chamber, a silver anode (15) to coact with at least one cathode (16) spacedly mounted in said chamber for release of Ag+ ions to the flow of water therebetween; electric circuit means (17) including power cell means (18) associated with said body and connected to said electrodes (15, 16); an on/off switch (20) in said circuit means (17) normally disposed inoperatively so that the circuit is open when water is not entering said chamber (12) at said inlet opening (13), and a switch-actuating valve assembly (21) mounted movably adjacent said inlet opening, said valve assembly being normally urged in biased manner to a position in which it closes the inlet opening (13) but adapted to be moved against said bias by water caused to flow through said inlet opening whereby said water enters and passes through said chamber and out said outlet opening, and the parts being so made and arranged that movement of said switch-actuating valve assembly (21) to open the inlet opening (13) causes said normally-open switch (20) to be closed to complete the circuit.

    • 230,042. Fisher, T. Feb. 28, 1924, [Convention date]. Separating by gravity. -Apparatus for separating oil or other lighter liquid from water comprises an outer vertical casing 1, an inner casing 2 and a central water outlet pipe 8 with an adjustable sleeve 9. In the outer compartment is a spiral deflector 4, extending vertically at the top. The mixed liquids are supplied through a pipe 5 having an air vent 16. Oil rises to the surface in the outer compartment, is heated by a steam coil 13 and discharged through a pipe 12. Water passes from the outer to the inner compartment through openings 6 at the bottom. The bottom of the apparatus is connected by a pipe 17 to a pressure water supply, so that an adequate water content can always be maintained.
