    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a further effective method and a composition for the method, for improving the response speed and image uniformity of an electrophoretic display and for suppressing electrical irreversible adhesion of dispersion particles or other charged particles on an electrode. SOLUTION: The method for improving electrophoretic display performance includes a step of adding a high-absorbance dye or pigment to at least one electrode protective layer in the electrophoretic display. The method for improving electrophoretic display performance also includes a step of adding conductive particles to at least one electrode protective layer in the electrophoretic display. The method for improving electrophoretic display performance further includes a step of adding a charge transport material to at least one electrode protective layer in the electrophoretic display.
