    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule having a function of a handle for an infant umbrella capable of easily allowing an accompanying person to help an infant in walking while stably holding a spread infant umbrella alone because actually it is difficult for two or three years old infant to walk with the spread infant umbrella alone and very unstable when the wind blows, and also dangerous for walkers around the infant because conventional infant umbrellas are made assuming that the infants can hold the umbrella for themselves similarly to adults.
      SOLUTION: The ferrule of an infant umbrella is proposed as an appropriate portion for assisting an infant in carrying the umbrella by easily holding up the same by a fingertip while his or her parent or accompanying person is walking with the infant also under cover of an umbrella. The ferrule 2 is formed in a shape of T, O or the like, which can be easily hooked by an adult's fingertip.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mask for a blowout hole of car air-conditioner capable of catching pollen or other particulates effectively and of being removed simply when it is to be replaced or not necessary.
      SOLUTION: The arrangement includes a mounting tool which is for mounting at the blowout hole of air-conditioner and made of a resilient material such as low-repulsion urethane, soft silicone, etc. This is compressed and inserted toward the innermost when it is intruded with a light force into the blowout hole using a finger or a pen, and inhales there the air and expands, or is willing to restore its original shape, so that it exerts an effect to stay in the position stably. An air purifying filter exerts a good effect when a net or a sheet itself is formed from a material having a high adsorbing effect for pollen or dust. As the construction can cover the whole area of the blowout hole, a great majority of the wind blowing out passes through the filter.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PET bottle cover suitable for use on a beach or a pool side in midsummer, which can be cooled easily in a freezer chamber of a refrigerator at home and can demonstrate a sunshade effect, a cold preservation effect and a cooling effect by capping it on a PET bottle when it is used.
      SOLUTION: The PET bottle cover having a tubular shape without a bottom is made by cutting out a sheet in accordance with the size of a PET bottle and joining a shoulder part (2) and a side part (3) of the sheet (1). When a cooling function is given, a cold reserving material is attached on the inner face of the cover making contact with the PET bottle by adhesion or sewing or the like. When it is used, the cover, to which the cold reserving material is attached, is cooled in the freezing chamber of a refrigerator below 0°C and is capped on the PET bottle to demonstrate a strong cold preservation effect and cooling effect. With regard to storing performance, it can be stored in the refrigerator or the like without taking space in the case of one piece or two or more piled pieces since it has a plane structure without the bottom.

    • 2-Keto-L-gulonic acid is prepared directly from D-glucose by microbial conversion utilizing mixed culturing on a medium containing D-glucose, employing two kinds of microorganisms; the first, a 2,5-diketo-D-gluconic acid producing microorganism which belongs to genus Erwinia and the second, a 2-keto-L-gulonic acid producing microorganism which belongs to genus Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium. The incubation of the microorganisms in a medium containing D-glucose is used in the disclosed process. By-production of 2-keto-D-gluconic acid, the undesired isomer of the intended product is effectively prevented by employing mixed culturing because of the co-existence of both microorganisms in the medium during at least part of the entire cultivation. Namely, 2-keto-D-gluconic acid produced by the second microorganism is utilized by the first microorganism to produce 2,5-diketo-D-gluconic acid which is subsequently converted into 2-keto-L-gulonic acid by the second microorganism.
