摘要： A geometrically-variable intrauterine pessary is described for adaptation to the uterine cavity, possessing a rod portion with flexible side-arms, which consists of plastic material. If necessary, the rod portion has a spiral wound round it, especially made of copper, has a securing device for a cord, is directly adapted to the uterine cavity and is characterized by the fact that it consists of a basic element and a locating cylinder, that the basic element is firmly coupled with the locating cylinder, that, as a result of the firm coupling, the locating cylinder can be moved in the direction of its longitudinal axis against the basic element and that the rod portion possesses a coupling part in which, during adaptation, an adaptation device can be engaged, and subsequently be removed. By rotating the locating cylinder after insertion, the expansion of the side-arms can be adapted as desired to the shape of the uterine cavity.

La partie en forme de tige, qui peut, le cas échéant, être entourée d'une spirale, en particulier réalisée en cuivre, possède un dispositif pour attacher un cordon et est directement adaptée à la cavité utérine; elle est caractérisée par le fait qu'elle comporte un élément de base et un cylindre de positionnement, que l'élément de base est fermement couplé avec le cylindre de positionnement, que, par suite de l'accouplement ferme, le cylindre de positionnement peut être déplacé dans le sens de son axe longitudinal contre l'élément de base, et qu'elle possède une partie d'accouplement dans laquelle on peut, lors de l'adaptation, engager un dispositif d'adaptation qui, après l'adaptation, peut être retiré. En faisant tourner le cylindre de positionnement, après l'insertion, on peut adapter à volonté l'écartement des bras latéraux en fonction de la forme de la cavité utérine.

By turning the control cylinder following insertion, the spreading apart of the side arms can be adapted in random manner to the uterine cavity geometry.
