    • A reusable, environmentally friendly, impact resistant, personal glass sport drinking bottle complete with threaded neckpiece to receive a screw on cap. It is highly resistant to chemical infusion; made of non-toxic, low silica boride glass designed to prevent odour retention and gaspermeability. Low impact strength glass bottles will generally break upon impact. This bottle will be coated with a single coat, food grade, dishwasher safe, abrasion resistant, silicone gel sleeve that encompasses a high cling characteristic. This will significantly increase the durability of the bottle when used in sporting applications. Should the bottle be broken the silicone gel sleeve will retain the glass shards and prevent scattering. A reusable, screw on, three-piece bottle cap and retaining ring connected by a plastic, swivel grommet, will effectively seal the bottle. The cap, retaining ring and swivel is manufactured of high impact acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and polyethylene. The retaining ring will attach the cap to the neck of the bottle effectively eliminating cap loss. It is an object of the present invention to provide a solution to the problem of toxic plastic sport drinking bottles with a safe, environmentally friendly re-useable glass bottle that is durable due to its compositions and combined with a slip on silicone gel sleeve that will increase the bottle's survivability factor when exposed to impact. At the same time this invention offers a"green"' solution to the one use, throw away bottles currently ending up in landfills.

    • The invention is concerned with a method and an apparatus for producing a water soluble sulphide as a by-product of the electrowinning of metals from sulphide ores. The method of the invention comprises (a) leaching the sulphide ore in a water soluble sulphide solution; (b) adding alkali to the solution of step (a); and (c) electrolysing the solution of step (b) so as to deposit metal at the cathode and obtain the water soluble sulphide. this method is carried out according to the invention in an apparatus which comprises (i) at least one primary leaching tank wherein the sulphide ore is leached in the presence of a water soluble sulphide; (ii) at least one secondary leaching tank and transferring means between the at least one secondary tank and the at least one primary tank for transferring resulting solution from the at least one primary tank for addition of alkali; (iii) at least one electrolytic cell for electrolysis of solution from the at least one secondary tank and means for transferring of solution from the at least one secondary tank to the at least one electrolytic cell; (iv) means for removal of deposited metal from the cathode of the at least one electrolytic cell; (v) at least one crystalliser and means for transferring of solution from the at least one electrolytic cell to the at least one crystalliser; (vi) means for transfer of crystals from the at least one crystalliser for subsequent collection; (vii) means for removal of mother liquor from the at least one crystalliser and recycling the mother liquor back to the at least one primary leaching tank. The invention is particularly suited for the production of metals referred to in qualitative chemical analysis as the tin group which includes mercury, arsenic, antimony and tin.
