    • A runway course defined by a belt or drum having a ground surface depicted on its outer face is rotatably driven by a motor through a belt and pulley arrangement. A model depicting an animal or vehicle is positioned over the runway course thereby giving the illusion that the model is moving over the ground surface. The model is driven laterally with respect to the axis of rotation of the runway course by a reciprocating chain drive or lead screw which is in turn driven by the aforesaid motor. The lateral velocity of movement is in a predetermined relationship to the velocity of rotation of the runway course. Obstacles are located on the runway course and the model is mounted on a pivotal framework which can be actuated to raise the model over the obstacles.

    • It is provided a computer game apparatus for displaying an image of virtual space in which first and second characters locate, the image being viewed from a first point in the virtual space to a direction from the first point to a second point in the virtual space, comprising: a first processor for obtaining positions of the first and second characters in the virtual space; and a second processor for setting the first or second point in accordance with a distance between the positions of the first and second characters which are aligned in the direction in the virtual space. According to the present invention, when the characters approach each other in virtual space in a game, the first point in virtual space is raised, so that the image is displayed as virtual space is looked down. Therefore, since the first character manipulated by the player and the enemy character do not overlap in the image, the player can clearly observe the movements of the enemy character. And even when the two characters are fighting in close, since the character controlled by the player can quickly cope with an attack by the enemy character, the game will be more exiting.

    • In a steering game machine having a single controllable moving object placed upon an opaque surface to be moved under the player''s control in relation with the motion of several free moving objects also placed upon the opaque surface to be moved by magnetic attraction therethrough, a first disk is rotatably mounted on a carriage which can linearly reciprocate below the opaque surface. A pair of first revolvable shafts are mounted uprightly on the first disk, each rotatably supporting a respective second disk above the first disk. A pair of second revolvable shafts are mounted uprightly on each of the second disks, each of the second shafts carrying a magnet on its upper end. By means typically consisting of sprocket wheels and an endless chain, the aforesaid first shafts are caused to revolve only around the axis of the first disk but not on their own axes, and the second shafts are similarly caused to revolve only around the axis of each of the second disks but not on their own axes, so that the free moving objects are maintained in a predetermined direction while being moved in various ways by the magnets on the upper ends of the second shafts.

    • A step-feed device is described, which comprises a ratchet wheel rotatably supported with a pivot on a base plate, a reset spring for biasing said ratchet wheel in its reset direction, a drive lever rockably supported with a pivot on said base plate, a drive claw pivotably supported by said drive lever so as to be freely rocked and having a tip end engageable with said ratchet wheel, a feed coil for rocking said drive lever, a reset lever rockably supported with a pivot on said base plate and provided with a locking claw engageable with said ratchet wheel at its tip end, a reset coil for rocking said reset lever, a back spring for backing said drive lever, an engaging spring for engaging both said drive claw and said locking claw with said ratchet wheel, and a holding lever rockably supported with the same pivot as said drive lever. As a characteristic feature of the present invention, when said reset lever is set at its reset state in response to energization of said reset coil, said reset lever is engaged with both said drive claw and said holding lever as intervening therebetween so that said reset lever may be held at said reset state and said drive claw may be disengaged from the ratchet wheel even after said reset coil has been denergized.
