[Class 40 (v).] Stabilized oscillations are generated at a frequency which is independent of variations, due to keying or otherwise, in the plate and filament potentials, by means of one or more valves in which inherent plate-grid capacity coupling is eliminated and a regenerative feed-back is provided through tuned circuits from the output to the input. As shown in Fig. 1, a screened-grid amplifier 1 is coupled through a tuned-anode circuit 5, 6, determining the frequency generated, to a similar screened-grid amplifier 2 which is back-coupled through a capacity 8 and variable resistance 9 to the input of the first valve. Two three-electrode amplifiers may be similarly coupled if the inherent plate-grid capacities are suitably neutralized. The second amplifier may have a considerably higher power-rating, to serve as a power-amplifier, the feed-back being correspondingly reduced. In Fig. 5, the oscillator consists cf a single screened-grid valve 25 suitably screened from the amplifier stage 30. In this case, backcoupling between the tuned input and output circuits is effected by means of a flywheel circuit 28. The system may also serve as a filter or selective amplifier for a definite frequency, which continually passes and repasses through the tuned circuits coupled by the valve amplifiers.
