As shown, the ring g is attached to the tube h in which the plunger slides, and the tube h is continued through an opening in the cap c and adapted to be pressed by a cap screwing on to the cap c.

Cleaning bottles.-Relates to the machine described in Specification No. 10,623, A.D. 1905, and consists in actuating the plungers which eject the bottles from the holders a into the rotary brushing- apparatus by means of the crank-disk e through a connecting-rod constructed in two parts f, f relatively slidable and having a spring f interposed. The internally toothed wheel a, provided with two sets of bottleholders, is supported on rollers a' and intermittently rotated by means of a pawl g carried by a pair of weighted bell-crank levers g, rocked by means of a cam e on the shaft e rotated from the driving-shaft c. The wheel is retained after e a c movement by a pivoted pawl h thrown into and out of action by connexion with the bell cranks. The wheel is rotated during halfa revolution of the shaft e, and then the cross-head k carrying the spring plungers k is operated to eject the bottles into engagement with the rotating brushes m , n. The remainder of the rotation of the shaft only results in compressing the spring f .

Siphon vessels.- Siphon heads of the kind described in Specification No. 19,643, A.D. 1899, are so constructed that the lever fulcrum is nearer the plunger and that the cap may be removed without disarranging the lever. The earthenware &c. block f, Fig. 1, made with a groove j communicating with the outlet, is surmounted by a diec washer k, which is pressed over the passage h by the spring-held plunger m. The lever p is fulcrummed near the bottom of the slotted tube o , which is screwed into the cap o. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which the lever p is supported on the flange t of a disc t.

摘要： 19,643. Idris, T. H. W., and Griffith, R.H. Sept.30. Siphon bottles.-The object of the invention is to simplify the construction of siphon heads, and to prevent the liquid from coming into contact with metal. The head is made up of a metal tube a, Fig. 2, which is screwed on to a split ring c, and of a rubber washer e, which rests on the top of the bottle b, and upon the upper side of which rest both the flanged upper end of the tube d and a block f of earthenware or the like, which has the nozzle g made in one with it and has a central passage h and a groove j at the top. The nozzle g projects through a slot in the tube a. On the upper side of the block f lies a washer k, which acts as a valve, and is normally pressed down by a spring n acting on a plunger m, the whole being held in place by a cap o which is screwed on to the top of the tube a. The valve is opened by a lever p, which passes through a slot in the cap, is fulcrumed on the edge of a ring l, and is engaged with a slot in the plunger n. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the valve washer k is operated by a rotating cap q, which turns a screw r working in a fixed nut in the cap a' and having its end resting on the washer k. Inside the cap q are springs s, Fig. 6, which tend to bring it back again when released and thus close the valve k.
