摘要： A pourer (10) for particulate material, such as soap powder includes a generally horizontal guide wall (12) and a generally vertical stop wall (16). A conduit (18) having a pointed piercing end (22) and sharp edged side walls is mounted to the stop wall (16) for being inserted in a carton by piercing the conduit into the carton with the guide wall (12) resting on the outer top surface (42) of the carton. The piercing action continues until the stop wall (16) contacts the vertical side wall (44) of the carton. The piercing end of the conduit is located remote from the guide wall. A spout (20) is connected outwardly of the stop wall (16) to assist in pouring the contents of the carton. Holes (26) are located in the conduit within the carton so as to facilitate flow of the contents to the spout (20). Projections (30) squeeze into the flap (46) of opened side wall (44) and assure that flap (46) remains against top wall (42) so that it does not impede flow from the carton.

摘要： A method is provided for maintaining a biomass disposed on a substrate in a bioreactor tank. The bioreactor tank has an inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with a waste treatment system whereby an influent fluid may be selectively introduced through the inlet into the bioreactor tank for removal of waste material therefrom. This produces an effluent fluid which can be returned through the outlet to the waste treatment system. The method comprises processing a quantity of influent fluid through the bioreactor tank to produce a quantity of effluent fluid and removing the effluent fluid from, the bioreactor tank through the outlet. The method further comprises isolating the bioreactor tank from the waste treatment system and establishing a set of dry cycle conditions in the bioreactor tank. The dry cycle conditions are selected to effect endogenous growth within at least a portion of the biomass whereby an average age of the at least a portion of the biomass may be tailored. The method also comprises restoring the bioreactor tank connection to the waste treatment system.

摘要： The application relates to a prosthetic canine elbow joint (1) comprising a radioulnar component (12) mountable in a trochlear notch of the ulna (2) and an articular fovea of a radius which is engagable with a humeral component (10) mountable on a trochlear bone portion of a humerus (4) to permit relative movement between the humerus (4) and ulna (2). The humeral component (10) is thus mounted e.g. hooked stably on a piece of bone extending between the medial and lateral condyles thereby making use of the intrinsic strength of bone. The humeral component (10) may include an opening (26) alignable with the supratrochlear foramen to receive the anconeal process (6) of the ulna (2) during articulation of the joint, thereby promoting freedom of movement.

摘要： Toy building pieces are disclosed which may be advantageously used in conjunction with a variety of different shaped framing pieces or connectors for building of structures such as polyhedral figures, geodesic domes or many other structures. One or more faces of the building pieces have interlocking means and have an aperture in the surface thereof to receive a thin rectangular shape such as a craft stick, or a circular shaped end of a framing piece of various cross section or connectors which are I-shaped in cross section. Other faces of the pieces may incorporate piece interconnection means, which may include for example: especially configured angular connection pieces which can be used in conjunction with other pieces to construct polyhedral figures; other pieces designed for hinged connection; a dovetail tongue on one part adapted to engage a dovetail groove on another part; or a tongue projecting from a face to engage one of the apertures. Other interconnecting means are also contemplated. In effect, adapter pieces are provided to change the connection means of a piece. In a kit or collection of such building pieces, a combination of various configurations of such pieces is provided.
