    • The present invention relates to a process for preparing a propylene random copolymer comprising polymerization of propylene with a comonomer, said comonomer being ethylene or an α-olefin comprising at least four carbon atoms, in the presence of a catalyst in a multistage process comprising polymerization of propylene with a comonomer in a first reaction zone including at least one slurry reactor to give a first polymerization product, transferring said first product to a second reaction zone including at least one gas phase reactor and polymerizations of propylene with a comonomer in said gas phase reactor in the presence of said first polymerization product, wherein the temperature in the gas phase reactor is at least 10° C. higher than in the slurry reactor and to a polymer obtainable by this process. Furthermore, the invention relates to a propylene random copolymer prepared by copolymerization of propylene with a comonomer wherein the distribution of the comonomer determined according to the TREF method is multimodal, preferably bimodal, a propylene random copolymer prepared by copolymerization of propylene with a comonomer wherein the copolymer is having an elution interval determined according to the TREF method of 50° C. or more, a propylene random copolymer prepared by copolymerization of propylene with a comonomer, wherein the random copolymer is a unimodal polymer and the elution interval determined by the TREF method is given by the equation Y≦4.5·m+16 wherein Y is the elution interval in ° C. and m is the percentage of ethylene in the copolymer in wt. %, and to the use of such a copolymers for the production of a film, of an article by blow moulding or injection moulding, of a fiber or of a pipe.

    • This invention relates to a process for the production of a polymer film or fibre wherein a polymer composition comprising a propylene homo- or copolymer is formed into a film or fibre, and wherein said propylene homo or copolymer is produced in a process which comprises the polymerization of propylene monomers or propylene monomers and one or more types of comonomers in the presence of a high yield Ziegler-Natta olefin polymerization catalyst, which catalyst comprises a component in the form of particles having a predetermined size range which has been produced in a process comprising: a) preparing a solution of a complex of a Group 2 metal and an electron donor by reacting a compound of said material with said electron donor or a precursor thereof in an organic liquid reaction medium, b) reacting said complex in solution with a compound of a transition metal to procedure an emulsion the dispersed phase of which containing more than 50 mol % of the Group 2 metal in said complex, c) maintaining the particles of said dispersed phase within the average size range of 5 to 200 microns by agitation in the presence of an emulsion stabilizer and d) solidifying said particles, and recovering, optionally washing said particles to obtain said catalyst component. The invention further relates to polpropylene products obtainable by this process and to the use of polypropylene products in the production of films and fibres.

    • The present invention relates to a process for the production of a propylene polymer in a multistage polymerisation process comprising the polymerisation of propylene in the presence of a catalyst in a first reaction zone comprising at least one slurry reactor to give a first polymerisation product, transferring said first product to a second reaction zone comprising at least one gas phase reactor and continuing polymerisation of propylene in the gas phase in the presence of said first polymerisation product which is characterised in that the temperature in both the slurry and the gas phase reactor is at least 75° C. and the product of at least one reactor is having an ethylene content in the range of 0.05 to 0.5 wt. %. Furthermore, the invention relates to a propylene polymer obtainable by the inventive process, to a propylene polymer which is characterised in that it comprises ethylene comonomer in an amount of 0.05 to 0.5 wt. %, is having a xylene solubles contents of 3.0 wt. % or less and is having a maximum in its temperature rising elution fractionation (TREF)-function at 120° C. or less, and to articles such as fibres, non-wovens, films and sheets comprising the inventive polymer.
