摘要： A mould press apparatus adapted for pressurised slip casting of a ceramic article, the apparatus comprising a supporting framework module within which a mould housing (5) comprising at least one mould member is located, said member (s) formed to be capable of pressurised moulding of said ceramic article within said housing, clamping means (8) adapted to at least partially clamp the mould member (s) to form said housing, ceramic slip introducing means adapted to introduce said slip into the mould housing, pressurising means adapted to apply pressure to the slip within said mould housing, wherein said framework module is configured to restrict movement therein of the mould housing in a generally vertical direction to prevent generally vertical demoulding of the moulded article whilst within said framework module but arranged to permit withdrawal of the at least partially clamped mould housing in a generally horizontal direction away from said framework so as to permit generally vertical demoulding of the moulded article in a location spaced away from the said framework module.

摘要： A ceramic casting system comprises a ceramic casting mould 2. The mould has two or more cavities. Each of the cavities is in fluid connection with a separate slip feed 30. In use, the cavities are so sized and shaped as to produce at least to produce two or more different types of product. The system also has a plurality of mould cavity pressurisation systems, wherein a separate pressurisation system is in fluid connection with each cavity, thereby allowing in use for the pressure conditions of each of the cavities to be separately set and adjusted. The system further includes a controller for controlling the pressure conditions supplied to each cavity by the process supply station, such that in use, different types of product can be produced simultaneously during a ceramic casting session in each of the cavities.

摘要： A ceramic pressure casting machine for casting articles such as sanitary ware 2 comprising an elongate support 4, a mould 8, an attachment 6, and a mould transport 10. The mould 8 comprises at least two portions an attached half 12 and a flying half 14. Slip is introduced to the mould in a first casting position where the attachment 6 overlies the mould and where the mould is compressed by the pressing of the attachment onto the mould for a given casting period. After the casting period the mould is moved along a linear path to a second position along the elongate support 4 by the mould transport 10 so that the attachment does not overlay the mould. In this second position the mould may be opened and demoulding may be undertaken using a portion of the mould as a demoulder head and the mould may subsequently be moved back along the elongate support 4 by the mould transport 10 to the first position. The opening of the mould and demoulding may be accomplished by a single robot arm.

摘要： A pressure casting machine 2 having a support 4 and a casting cell 6, wherein the casting cell is attached to the support in such a way 8 that the casting cell can be rotated during use, while at least a portion of the support remains stationary. The machine further has a releasable retainer to retain the casting cell at a user-desired rotated position. The machine may also have an overhead beam 10 and a C-shaped frame 40, which may contain a plurality of mould elements movable separately to the others via movement of the C-shaped frame. The rotation may be automated by way of a servo motor, processor and user interface, allowing fine adjustments of the machine. The machine is suitable for use with ceramics such as toilet bowls. A method of pressure casting is also provided comprising the steps of: filling a mould with slip for the purpose of producing a casting when the mould is orientated at a first angle; rotating the mould so that it is orientated at a second angle, and; draining the mould.
