    • A revolving transfer machine (10) has a fixed machine frame which is configured for supporting a number of machining units (66) and which comprises at least one support (70). The inventive revolving transfer machine (10) also has a circular table (40) which turns around a vertical control axle (12) in relation to the frame. In order to create space for machining a workpiece to be arranged on the circular table (40), the support (70) is configured for mounting at least one of the machining units (66) on the side. The machine frame is characterised by a high degree of rigidity and stability. At the same time, a large volume of space is created for machining workpieces and easy access to the satellites (50), the indexing devices and the circular table (40) for the purpose of adjusting or installing the machine is guaranteed. The inventive revolving transfer machine (10) also has an extremely fast, high dynamics drive mechanism for the circular table (40) and enables the satellites to be indexed in less time but nonetheless accurately.

    • The workpiece (3) is clamped to a bench (2) which can be moved relatively to a tool (4a, 4b) in at least three mutually perpendicular directions (X, Y, Z). The tools (4a, 4b) are each inserted in an individually driven working spindle (5a, 5b), only one of which is machining at any one time.
