摘要： A chair riser assembly supports a chair in an elevated position relative to a primary support surface for providing the chair user with a slightly raised seat elevation for aiding the chair user in rising from the riser-supported chair. The chair riser assembly includes a series of corner post assemblies each of which have a lower post end for engaging the primary support surface. Two width adjustment assemblies adjustably interconnect paired, laterally spaced the post assemblies for enabling the user to adjust the lateral width of the riser assembly for accommodating variously sized chairs. Laterally opposed chair support assemblies interconnect forward portions of the chair riser assembly to rearward portions of the chair riser assembly. Each chair support assembly includes a chair support portion in superior adjacency to the lower post ends for supporting lower portions of the chair in superior adjacency to the primary support surface.

摘要： An intravascular filter assembly has an expanded state for capturing thrombi in a patient's blood vessel and a collapsed state for removal from the patient's blood vessel. The filter assembly includes a fixed hub defining a tubular portion, a plurality of struts extending from a first axial side of the tubular portion of the fixed hub, and an axially movable hub. The struts have an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. The axially movable hub has a first position radially surrounding at least an axial portion of the tubular portion and a second position axially spaced apart from the fixed hub along the struts. The struts are in the collapsed configuration when the movable hub is in the second position. A first coupling member extends from the first axial side from the movable hub; and a second coupling member extends from a second axial side opposite the first axial side.

摘要： An apparatus includes a first radiation detector to generate a first signal when a first radiation level is exceeded and a second radiation detector to generate a second signal when a second radiation level is exceeded. The second radiation level is greater than the first radiation level. A first circuit is susceptible to soft errors at the first radiation level and a second circuit is susceptible to soft errors at the second radiation level. A control unit may suspend use of the first circuit and activate use of the second circuit if the first signal is received and the second signal is not received. The first and second circuits may be memory cells or logic circuits.

摘要： An airborne substance detector includes an air intake that sweeps through a fixed area, and a fan that draws air toward a effluence detection device that analyzes the air for one or more substances, such as explosives. The air intake may be a series of tubes of a rotary gate, with multiple sets of tubes that rotate about a central axis. The fan or blower draws air through holes in the tubes, and through a manifold that directs air to the effluence detection device from a single set of tubes at a time. In addition the detector may include a heater that may enhance vaporization of substances to be detected. The effluence detection device, the manifold, and the fan may be located in an enclosure at the top of the rotary gate. After detection, a decontamination procedure may be initiated to purge the system of the substance that was detected.
