    • A video decoding apparatus includes a bitstream parser, a calculator and a memory. The bitstream parser is provided to receive a video bitstream and extracting a set of constraints associated with the video bitstream, wherein the set of constraints has information associated with a direct_8×8_inference flag for a macroblock of a picture, wherein the macroblock has N sub-macroblock partitions. The calculator is provided to calculate first motion vector information associated with the macroblock and obtain second motion vector information associated with K of the N sub-macroblock partitions from the first motion vector information according to the information associated with the direct_8×8_inference flag, wherein K is less than N. The memory is provided to store the second motion vector information.

    • A method for encoding digital media data includes deriving a portion of prediction information and a portion of prediction error information of the digital media data, and encoding the digital media data into a bit stream. The bit stream comprises a first bit stream section and a second bit stream section that respectively carry the portion of prediction information and the portion of prediction error information. In addition, within the bit stream, the portion of prediction information and the portion of prediction error information are not carried in the same macroblock (MB) or the same sub-unit of an MB. A method for decoding encoded digital media data and a method for coding digital media data and a method for processing bit stream of digital media data are also provided.

    • One exemplary memory control method of a memory device includes: determining at least a physical row partition including a plurality of physical rows selected from the memory device; and for each physical row partition, mapping interleaved virtual rows to the selected physical rows. Each physical row partition is a portion of the memory device. Bank addresses of adjacent virtual rows are different. Another exemplary memory control method of a memory device includes: assigning an indicator to each physical row partition in the memory device for indicating if the corresponding physical row partition is to be refreshed; and controlling a partial refresh operation of the memory device according to the indicator of each physical row partition. Each physical row partition is a portion of the memory device.

    • Several apparatuses employing a tag table and/or an AC table, and same method are provided. First, a data access apparatus, which comprises a buffer, a tag table and a controller, receives and outputs a plurality of data with at least two distinct categories in a specified sequence. The buffer stores the data of less than all the specified categories. The tag table keeps records of corresponding category information associated with the data. The data stored in the buffer is further read out under the control of the controller by referencing the corresponding category information in the tag table, so that the data access apparatus outputs the data in the specified sequence correctly. Second, an apparatus, which comprises a tag table, an AC table and a processing circuit, detects high frequency AC coefficients in a digital data processing system. The tag table includes a plurality of tag values corresponding to a plurality of DCT coefficients in an incoming DCT matrix. The AC table includes a plurality of correspondingly predetermined AC state values with at least two distinct states. The processing circuit compares the corresponding pair of the tag and AC state values to determine whether any DCT coefficient of a particular state exists in the incoming matrix.
