    • The present invention comprises: a dispersive database in which documents are classified and stored according to a document classification system and document characteristics including term properties; a maximal concept-strength decision unit which extracts features from a target document to be classified when receiving the target document, decides a category of the target document by calculating a weight of each feature using the extracted features and similarity in category, and decides as a maximal concept-strength a maximum value obtained by calculating the weight of each feature with respect to the category of the document; and a database selection unit which selects the dispersive database similar to the characteristics of the target document by applying the maximal concept-strength of the target document decided through the maximal concept-strength decision unit to the dispersive database.

    • The present invention relates to a method for providing customized research information. A research supporting portal server searches a knowledge base included therein to extract information on topics of a domain of interest when domain selection information is received, generates a user profile information input image including the extracted information on the topics and provides the user profile information input image to a client. The client receives user profile information including a level of knowledge and a goal of a user about each of the topics through the user profile information input image and transmits the user profile information to the research supporting portal server. The research supporting portal server extracts research information on the topics using the information on the topics and the level of knowledge and the goal of the user, included in the user profile information, sets the research order of the extracted research information and provides the research order to the client. Information on topics of a specific domain can be provided to a client such that the client can make structural access to the current knowledge base and a user can make procedural access to topics in the relation of cause and effect.

    • The present invention relates to a method and server for constructing a knowledge base. According to the method, a schema item is defined. When resource information, including at least one of a file, a difficulty and an arrival goal, is input, identifiers unique to the resource information are created, and the created identifiers are assigned to the resource information. Pieces of attribute information are extracted from the input resource information by analyzing the resource information. An associated relationship between the respective pieces of extracted attribute information is set based on the defined schema item. The set associated relationship is stored. Accordingly, difficulty information about specific resources of field experts, knowledge about a research sequence with respect to lower element fields of a current field, and so on can be directly expressed in the knowledge base.
