The threads may be of opposite or the same hands and also may be provided at the outer extremities of the fitting. The fitting is shown as connecting a pump 1 to a manifold 4. The fitting 8 may include a control valve or a oneway valve and be of U-shape.

A filter 1 is screwed on to bobbin 3 which is located in a bore 30 in shallow casing 7, the filter interior thereby connecting through cross bore 4 with annular recess 5 in bobbin 3 and thence through port 6 with a suction pump (not shown). Casing 7 depends from a top cover 8 of a reservoir in a hydraulic system, the pump being located in the reservoir. Bobbin 3 has two sealing rings 25, 26 of different diameters, and is withdrawn with the filter 1 through casing 7, after removing cap 12 and engaging a threaded rod in bore 14. In Fig. 2, not shown, several filters and bobbins are located in the end of one casing, the different annular recesses being connected. Filter 1 may be wound wire, paper, woven or sintered metal. Holes 15 in casing 7 enable opening 13 to be used for filling the reservoir, and also tend to keep seals 25, 26 wet and apply the reservoir pressure downwards to hold the bobbin 3 against shoulder 31.

[Class 120 (i).] In a carding-engine, a combing roller 3 and a cleaning roller 4, both covered with card clothing, are arranged beneath and between the cylinder 1 and the doffer 2 ; the combing roller clothing and the doffer clothing are back-to-face when in motion, the cleaning roller clothing and the combing roller clothing are in contact and back-to-back, and the cleaning roller clothing is gauged from the clothing on the cylinder. Fibre on the doffer is straightened by the roller 3 which is cleaned by the roller 4 which, in its turn, is cleaned by the cylinder. The arrows indicate the directions of rotation of the various devices, the peripheral speed of the roller 4 being twenty per cent greater than that of the roller 3 which has a peripheral speed of two to five times that of the doffer 2. The combing roller clothing is gauged from the clothing on the doffer.

At least one engine transceiver is provided and is operably coupled to a locomotive. A controller is included and functions to provide logic and control of the locomotive control system. The method provides monitoring of the point blades of a railroad switch and detection of the movement of an approaching locomotive having entered the detection zone and is operable to prevent movement through the railroad switch if damage will occur thereto.
