摘要： A low maintenance separation device intended for removing liquid-borne solids from a carrier liquid includes a hydrocyclone separator (105) comprising a liquid vortex-forming chamber (130) with an inlet (150) for receiving a solids-contaminated liquid feed, and an outlet (145) for gravity-assisted outflow of liquids and solids, wherein the chamber is provided with a screen (125) positioned in an upper portion of the chamber, and arranged to interfere with raised liquid levels so as to inhibit solids passage whilst permitting liquid through-flow, the said screen having a surface which is at least partially foraminated and of a concave shape.

In a conveyer belt type of toaster, the degree of heating may be varied by altering the relative positions of reflectors 24, 25 and upright heating elements 20, 21, between which the slices are conveyed. The reflectors 24, 25 are carried on shafts 26 and 27 which are angularly adjustable by means of a lever 29, moved by a handle 31. Gears 28 transmit the movement of reflector 24 to reflector 25. Bottomless compartments of a bread magazine 32 are moved in turn over conveyer chains 10 to enable each slice to be withdrawn for toasting. The chains 10 are driven by continuously running motor 14, Fig. 4, which also drives the magazine indexing mechanism through bell cam 51. The magazine drive spring, operating through lever 43, is tensioned as pin 50 rides up cam 51. At the tip of cam 51, latching lever 57 is released from rack 54 and drive pawl 56 engages a new tooth of rack 53 so that, on release of pin 50, the magazine is indexed to the left through one rack tooth space. The magazine can be released for re-setting by manually depressing the end of lever 43.

The food to be heated may be contained in a stack or nest of pots &c. e.g. all in a carrying cage &c.
