    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep an end of roll paper always pulled out of a roll paper holder by a predetermined length to be released therefrom after being pulled out and cut. SOLUTION: The roll paper holder comprises a lining member and a cover member facing each other in juxtaposition from the rear and front sides of pulled out roll paper, respectively, such that they can be opened/closed. Either one of the lining and cover members comprises convex portions extending in a substantially horizontal direction and the other comprises concave portions for receiving the convex portions therein and either one of the members comprises saw teeth at the front end. Further, when the lining and cover members are closed, the roll paper is clamped between the convex and concave portions and held or cut by the saw teeth at the front end, while released from being clamped and held when the members are opened.       SOLUTION: A back surface member and a cover member are openably and closably arranged so as to face each other from both front and back sides of the pulled-out paper roll, one of the back surface member and the cover member is provided with a projection part extending in a roughly horizontal direction, the other is provided with a fall-in part for making the projection part fall in, and one of the back surface member and the cover member is provided with a tooth part or a blade part. Further, the paper roll is clamped between the projection part and the fall-in part and is held or cut by the tooth part or the blade part when the back surface member and the cover member are closed, and the paper roll is opened from the clamping and holding when the back surface member and the cover member are opened. Further, instead of the configuration of the projection part and the fall-in part, a paper roll spring-up member is provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll paper holder in which a leading end of roll paper extends outwardly from the roll paper holder by a certain length after cutting of the roll paper.SOLUTION: A back surface member and a cover member are openably and closably arranged so as to face each other from both front and back sides of the pulled-out roll paper. One of the back surface member and the cover member is provided with a projection part extending in a substantially horizontal direction, the other is provided with a spring member compressed at the projection part. Either the back surface member or the cover member is provided with a tip tooth part. Further, the roll paper is held between the projection part and the spring part, and the paper is cut by the tip tooth part when the back surface member and the cover member are closed. The held roll paper is released when the back surface member and the cover member are opened. Further, instead of the configuration of the projection part and the spring part, paper can be fed out in the horizontal direction as well.

    • An automatic eye-refractometer includes a projector for projecting a test pattern onto the fundus of an eye to be examined, a photo-electric device disposed to receive an image of the test pattern reflected upon the fundus of the eye, a calculator for calculating the refractive power of the eye using outputs from the photo-electric device and a processor for processing the results of the calculation into digital video signals. The eye-refractometer is further provided with a video camera for image picking up the front part of the eye through an objective lens of the projector to produce video signals and a video display device for displaying on a screen a picture produced from the video signals. With the measuring apparatus, the examiner can observe the image of the front part of the eye to be examined and can properly arrange the eye and the objective lens to each other while watching the picture displayed on the screen. By putting the digital signals into the video display device from the processor there are also displayed on the screen numerals, characters or other symbols informing of the refractive power of the examined eye.
