摘要： Waste is treated by pyrolysis at a temperature of from 400-700°C and combustion at a temperature of at least 400°C. Off-gases are catalytically oxidized to reduce emissions. The combusting waste is periodically agitated with high-pressure air bursts to disrupt waste in the chamber and promote even and complete combustion. Air is introduced during pyrolysis to promote controlled flow of off-gas to the catalyst and air and/or water is used to dislodge accumulated ash at the end of the treatment process.

摘要： In apparatus and method for waste treatment by pyrolysis, treated waste is flushed through a grid (18) to trap recyclable material in the pyrolysis chamber (24). Pyrolysis is carried out at a temperature of from 400-700 o C and off-gases are dissolved in a solution in scrubber (13) for disposal in a water course. Water is introduced into the chamber as superheated steam via pipes (5) so as both to flush away treated material and clean the chamber. Recyclable waste is separated from non-recyclable by treating non-recyclable waste by pyrolysis, and flushing treated non-recyclable waste away through liquid exhaust (8). Apparatus is made as a modular, free-standing unit and comprises plugs for connection to an electricity supply, to a water supply, and to a sewerage system (16) and has a chamber with a volume in the range 0.01-0.5m 3 .

摘要： A waste treatment plant (1) comprises an incinerator unit (30) and an autoclave unit (9) and operates such that steam for the autoclave is generated from heat in the incinerator and contaminated water from the autoclave is used to control the temperature in the incinerator, the contamination being destroyed in the process. Exhaust gas from the incinerator is used to reduce the water content of waste treated in the autoclave. Steam generated by the incinerator is available for plant washing operations, to wash bins that supplied waste to the plant before the bins are returned.
