    • Dihydrodesoxystreptomycin (tertiary hydroxyl group of dihydrostreptomycin is reduced to hydrogen) is produced by reducing an aqueous solution of a streptomycin salt with amalgamated aluminium at a pH initially maintained at 1.5 to 2.4 and then at 2.7 to 3.5 when the reaction becomes vigorous as indicated by a rapid rise in temperature, which is preferably controlled by cooling to a temperature of 50 DEG C.-55 DEG C. On completion of the reaction (as indicated by the maltol test) the acid is neutralised by a base forming an insoluble salt with the acid, the precipitated salt so formed being removed and the free dihydrodesoxystreptomycin recovered by adding acetone or methyl alcohol. Specified streptomycin salts are the sulphate, hydrochloride-calcium chloride double salt and the pentachlorophenate-sulphate double salt. In the case of the pentachlorophenate-sulphate salt the reaction takes place in aqueous butanolic solution and the salt itself is prepared by adding streptomycin sulphate to sodium pentachlorophenate in methanol. Where the reaction takes place in the presence of (a) sulphuric acid, the sulphate ions are removed by the addition of barium hydroxide (b) hydrochloric acid, the chloride ions are removed by the addition of silver carbonate and the residual carbonate by the addition of barium hydroxide. Dihydrodesoxystreptomycin sulphate, nitrate, hydrochloride or phosphate is prepared by adding the appropriate acid to an aqueous solution of the base and precipitating the salt by the addition of methanol.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clock without mechanical sound, which can be seen even in the dark, and by which time is easily recognized.SOLUTION: Time is easily recognized since a clock is hand display, and the time is confirmed even when a user is half-awake, or is distant from a clock by performing such graphic display as in a conventional analog type clock by liquid crystal and various kinds of electric display, eliminating mechanical sound, making a screen large, and displaying only two hands (or displaying the entire screen), etc., and adjusting a light amount so that the clock is slightly seen even in the dark. Disadvantages of the analog type clock are dissolved, and the clock is made to be easily seen even in the case of sleep in the dark.

    • PURPOSE: To measure a quantity of passing object and fluid by rotating a rotating body rotating by passing of an object or a fluid measuring one gear having the number of teeth without an integer times of the other, and detecting a restoration of a relative position relation of the teeth.
      CONSTITUTION: By a dropping of a PACHINKO ball 13 as an object, a chain wheel like wheel as a rotating body 3 is rotated, a gear fixed thereto is rotated and a gear 2 engaging therewith is also rotated. Disks 14, 15 are respectively fixed to the gears 1, 2 coaxially, and as reference sections 8, 9 respectively notch sections are formed. As the reference sections 8, 9, with both the notches an operating member F using as a detecting device 10 and a stopping device 11 is engaged, and when an engagement is released by pulling in a direction of AF shown by an arrow by means of an electromagnetic device g, the rotating body 3 is rotated by the ball 13. By the rotation of the gear 1 having many teeth, when a cumulative sum of teeth reaches a common multiple, the same teeth are engaged again, so that if the second coincidence of the reference sections is detected, the number of the rotation of the rotating body 3 is directly understood and the object and the fluid can be measured.
